Thanks for both of youre guys advice: aigomorla and mfenn. Maybe I didn't point it out, but mfenn's cost effective advice, was also info I was looking for.
The mini-PCIe slot is in the middle of the board and is usually used for things like WiFi and SSDs that either don't require back panel output or only have a couple of thin wires (WiFi antenna). In the case of the MVII, it is a non-standard form factor used exclusively for the WiFi/BT combo card.
