Not a huge fan of the coupe, so RS5 -> M3 -> CTS-V

However... if it was the sedan, it would be RS5 by just a tiny bit -> CTS-V -> M3.

RS5 ... the others can't compare in looks

But then the RS5 costs about the same as an R8

At least you admit it.

Caddy doesn't have much respect yet.

It'll take a brand new STS, DTS, XLR etc etc etc and about 10 more years...

To compete with brands that have the Gullwing, SLR, R8, and now the LF-A.

maybe in the plain luxury circles, the first V cars cemented ALOT of repsect for caddy in sports car circles

That's like saying the Cobalt SS made people respect Chevy.

I'm not impressed with CTS. It has a variant of a Corvette Engine stuffed into an ungainly looking body and some suspension and braking upgrades. Whoopdee do.

Look at what the CTS actually is underneath. Overweight. Narrow. Horrendous rear proportions that turns an otherwise gorgeous front end into an overall disaster.

I dont get the CTS love on this forum. Ive never ever encountered in elsewhere.

I'd personally go for the RS5 (a car so damn sweet looking Im willing to overlook the likely repair bills).

But the CTS is just fugly. It screams American design, and not in a flattering way. Ugh.

CTS love isn't limited to this forum.

The RS5 is damn sexy, no contest.

As for the CTS looks, to each their own I guess. It does scream American design, but for me, it's a good thing.

Corvette engine, suspension, braking upgrades: You have a problem with this?
Narrow: Wider than an M3, more narrow than an RS5, all within an inch or so
Weight: ~450lbs heavier than both, but...

CTS-V 4200, 556hp/551lb.ft .132 hp/lb .131 lb.ht/lb
M3 3726, 414hp/300lb.ft .111 hp/lb .081 lb.ft/lb
RS5 3803, 450hp/317lb.ft .118 hp/lb .083 lb.ft/lb

Rear end: subjective, I like it and I have seen one in person, have you?

The CTS-V is faster than either of these cars and is a far better value while being cheaper in the long run. Anything else you want to argue about, such as the way it looks, is entirely subjective.

um its not at all like the cobalt

few guys bring them to the local autoxs and drag nights, no one talks smack about them being PIOS's or ugly etc

of course its overweight, its damn luxury sedan. its not about being lightweight. if thats your focus then you missed the point of the car.

plenty of car guys I know drink the koolaid, 3 I know DD a V.

http://www.insideline.com/cadillac/...adillac-cts-v-coupe-vs-2011-bmw-m3-coupe.html

sorry you arent impressed, it beats everything in its class, even edging out the new M3

is the m3 not an engine,. brakes, and suspension shoved into a 3 series? why is that so much more impressive than gm doing it?

you th8ink its ugly, great. that doesnt make it a worse car overall, because some will prefer the cts over the M3(i think the front on the m3 is just wrong, as most all bangle cars)

In fairness, I just looked up some CTS's, and I realize now that they redesigned them a couple years ago, with a major interior overhaul. The 2010 is actually pretty damn good looking. Exterior shape is similar, but the nose isnt nearly as fugly as before.

Is that stitched leather on the dash?

Asking me if I've a CTS in person is like asking me if I've seen a Corolla in person. Unless you live in the middle of no where, these cars are about as common as 3 series.

CTS V for me. Once the mods start that LSA leaves the high strung competition in the dust twice over.

Don't pay any mind to our resident Euro snob, he's 16 and drives a Camry.

This is the CTS I was looking at.

Even in that color, which def. isn't my color of choice, it's damn sexy. And powerful- not so much this one (2.8l V6 6-speed), but still. I love the look of the car, and it is American. I could usually care less about it, but something about it is majestic. Especially the newer ones.

RS5 is the best looking of the bunch, but I can't see what the car looks like while I am driving it, so the CTS-V for me. With the huge ass the CTS-V has, I'm guessing the trunk is quite large as well, making the car practical for daily use.

On a somewhat unrelated note, there is a police officer in my area who owns an Audi S5 coupe. I see it quite often since he parks it at a bank where his patrol car sits during the day. I didn't know what it was until I looked now to see if it was an RS5 and saw that it was actually an S5. That is a gorgeous car. Not sure how a police officer can afford one though.

Considering this post is about the CTS-V coupe, no you don't see them everywhere.

It's funny you say it as if it's something to be ashamed of. Nobody buys a car in this price range without trying to show off to an extent anyway and the Euro brands are easier to do that with.

simply because of name even if the caddy is better overall value for money.

Sorry, IMO it is a negative when someone worries more about the name than the value. If the car does everything you want, why worry about the name?

Lets be fair...we don't really know what the RS5 will cost when it comes over...but it will definitely be more expensive than the other two.
