What is the highest amd cpu I can use with DDR2100 ram?

You can use up to a 266MHz-bus 2600+ with DDR266 aka PC2100.

If you stick an AGP card in the AGP slot, the onboard video should disable automatically. Biostar doesn't have a manual available for download yet, that I could find, but that's the norm for boards which have onboard video plus an AGP slot.

The highest CPU Biostar approves for the M7VIG Pro... hmm... well, since the base-model M7VIG appears to support the 2600+ that has a 266MHz bus (chart), I'd imagine the same is true for the Pro.

Remember that there are 333MHz-based 2600+'s too, it isn't going to support them. But if you're getting a 2600+ then I'd hope you would pair it up with nForce2 Hope that helps!

Oh, and your keyboard issue. Are you sure you're plugging the keyboard into the correct port, and not into the mouse port instead? Could be your board has a touchy connector, too.

Thanks for your info on the mobo and cpu. AS far as
The keyboard, Sometimes it works, sometimes not. When it quits working I need to plug in another keyboard and it will be ok for a few boots, then quits and I have to swap back. Both k/b's work ok in another computer. Have troubleshot by removing sound card, modem and USB devices and changing BIOS to "fail-safe" option.

Have owned serveral computers and never had keyboard problems before

Answered. Except that the M7VIG Pro "may" also support DDR333 (PC2700). The KM266 is capable of asynchronous FSB/MEM bus. Whether or not Biostar will decide to enable it remains to be seen.

Can't say for sure, it hasn't been released yet. I contacted Biostar and they answered "shipping in January".

Nope, that AGP slot is purely cosmetic. lol!

The M7VIG Pro looks like a nice update of the M7VIG. It has C-Media CMI9739A 6-Channel sound rather than the more plain AC'97 2.2 Audio CODEC, USB 2.0 instead of 1.1, overclocking capabilities due to WarpSpeeder and a red PCB. It seems like it would be a very nice budget board.

The KM266 Biostar M7VIQ is available now & it has USB 2.0, but no Warpspeeder or 6 channel sound (or SDRAM slots).
