I've actually considered getting one, and I'll tell you why...

1) Price was one of my biggest reasons for not using a Mac in the past... at $500 USD, that reason is no longer valid.

2) OS X is very attractive... it's more secure than Windows XP in the sense that there's hardly any viruses or spyware or malware written for it. Not to say that viruses and the like COULDN'T be written for it... they just aren't right now.

3) It's small and doesn't consume a lot of power... most likely whisper quiet (I've never heard one myself)... I would put this in my bedroom if I got one, probably paired with an LCD monitor.

The only thing stopping me from getting one is that I use my computer for games... I could spend the same amount of money on my PC and increase my gaming pleasure quite a bit... or have a Mac Mini and only use my PC for gaming. Seeing as how it takes quite a bit of money to keep a gaming PC up to date so I can play brand new games, I'd rather not spend $800 (Mac Mini + good LCD monitor) on something to check my e-mail and browse the web with.

do you OWN a digicam or camcorder?
thats what macs are for, and if you dont use iLife there really isnt any point in getting one.
unless you are too stupid to avoid viruses with XP, which sadly is about 95% of the computer using population. in that case, get a mac.

I own a digital camera, but not a camcorder.
I hope by "you," you didn't mean me personally and that was more of a general insults to the "95% of the computer using population."
I haven't downloaded a virus in my life... family members are another story... in high school a family member even went out of his way to disable McAffee Virus Scan so he could open this attatchment someone e-mailed to him. It took him a LONG time to realize that not EVERY e-mail that shows up in his inbox is actually sent by a human sitting at a computer typing and clicking...

Hm.....I bet if you buy a Mac Mini, video tape yourself destroying it, put up the video on a website full of affiliate banners and post the link to a Mac advocacy site, you could make more money than what you paid for the Mini. That and you get the satisfaction of killing one. Just an idea.
