Not unless you know someone on the MacOS dev team!

Apple has a version of Mac OS X that works with Intel and AMD processors in their lab, but they have decided not to release it. They are keeping it as a backup plan, just in case something happens to their supply of new Motorola processors.

Do you really believe that?

There are themes for windows an dlinux which look nearly like Mac OS X.

It would be KEWL if they did release it..

I'd get a copy

I wouldn't, you know how long it would take before it had decent hardware support and was stable? Apple's spoiled by only having to develop for a handfull of machines.

Apple can barely support their own stuff, I'm sure they'd love to take on a universe of buggy PC hardware....heheh.

I have no idea what you're talking about, Apple supports their own hardware quite well. The 'it just works' comments in the annoying switch commercials are 99% true.

"It just works."

Somewhat true if it just didn't crash so often. I am loading OS X next week on my G4 at the office. One of my coworkers has been up for 19 days now on X without a lockup or a crash. He is a lot tougher on a Mac than me. I may change my mind about the Mac once I get a feel for X?????????????

I've seen nothing about Apples to impress me. Its a closed system, first of all, since the hardware and software is rigidly controlled, I should sure as hell hope they wouldn't crash much. The fact is Apple had to "borrow" BSD to get a good system, and even though they weighed it down with eye candy, thats still all it is. Anyway, my PC box built out of ebay junk never crashes either, and I have my choice of XP or Linux as the mood takes me.

Windows isn't closed? You can get most of Darwin's source, the GUI is the only thing I know that they're keeping under lock and key. And the hardware is mostly standard, SDRAM, PCI cards, etc.

The fact is Apple had to "borrow" BSD to get a good system,

And? MS hasn't borrowed much from OSS in general and look at their shoddy system. The software is there, free of charge so why shouldn't they take advantage of it?
