It's got some minor annoyances but overall it's tons better than Windows. But, I still like Debian GNU/Linux better =).
n0c is right. Go to your nearest Apple Store and check it out yourself. Try iTunes, iPhoto, Sherlock and if possible Microsoft Office V. X.Originally posted by: n0cmonkey

It's a shame for Microsoft that their office suite runs and looks better than in their own OS.
No kiddin'...Since it is UNIX based, I wonder how long 'till someone ports or re-compiles it to run on linux.

n0cmonkey,
Did you install 10.1.5 update? If you did, could you show me Quartz anti-aliasing screenshot?

It will be more difficult than that, unfortunately. Office X, being an Aqua program, makes a huge number of function calls to Aqua, much like KDE programs spend most of their time calling QT and GNOME programs call GTK+ libraries. Perhaps if Apple releases Aqua as open source, but that is highly improbable.
I have long disliked Macs, dismissing them as kiddie machines with a kiddie OS, but I have to admit MacOS is a truely great product. I have to wonder if it is better than BeOS would be, had it been made the standard though.
Now if only Macs hardware were as open as PC hardware, I would not hesitate to get a Mac for my next machine...

Someone could try and do a non-Aple Aqua library, like Wine, it would probably be easier than Wine too.

Yea those damn PCI cards, SDRAM modules and IDE hard drives are so hard to find...

Well, while it works Apple's idea of a WEP key is different than eveyrone elses and it's a pain to get a non-Apple client working with encryption.

wow.
only if mac's were a bit more affordable.... like pcs!
Agree. But I'm annoyed about how the toolbar of programs with multiple windows interface are handled. For example, Eudora 5 for Mac OS X, Microsoft Office v.X, etc. I don't like the way they separate the toolbar with the main window, I don't have problem with the placement of the menu bar. I think Mac OS X application should be more like Sherlock, iTunes, Mail, etc. Toolbar should be integrated with main program window. It looks better.Originally posted by: n0cmonkey

Oh yeah? What do you think about Finder then? You think Finder should has a separate toolbar?Originally posted by: n0cmonkey
