I just got my MacConnection catalog and stumbled upon a pre-order for Virtual PC 7 for the Mac. This version is supposed to have native video card support, it is compatible with the G5, and is supposed to b a lot faster than previous versions. When I called the sales rep said that they were looking to ship towards the middle of this month, but more likely towards the end. Pricing had already gone up to regular price (129.95) when I talked to him, but since I mentioned the catalog he honored the price. It isn't listed on their website, but the phone number is (800) 800-2222. The sales prices in the catalog are as follows:

Virtual PC for Mac Upgrade: 79.95
Virtual PC for Mac Full Version: 109.95
Virtual PC for Mac w/Windows XP Home: 199.95
Virtual PC for Mac w/Windows XP Pro: 219.95
Virtual PC for Mac w/Windows 2000 Pro: 219.95

The prices are between $20-$30 lower than MSRP. I got mine for $120.95 shipped 2-Day Air! Definitely hot for anyone who loves their mac, but has to work in Windows as well.

Wow, this is the first I've heard about a shipping date aside from when they said it was pushed back to the 2nd half of the year. I'm really hoping for the native video card support, as there's a few old old PC games I'd love to be able to play on my mac.

Aren't Macs supposed to be 'easy' to use?

<flame no = 2>
Of course it's difficult to use.. to a Mac person. XP uses *gasp* two mouse buttons. Guess that extra button is tough for the big finger Mac folks

Sorry.. I know.. It probably runs really slow on the "world's fastest" computer. Since 'our' computers are so much slower, you'd think a computer that is ridiculously faster could run a program for a slower computer at least at regular speed.

Sorry.. there is no cloverleaf button on a PC keyboard. We're not so high and mighty where we think the english language isn't sufficient enough to label a key on the keyboard.

Oops.. didn't mean to bump this

Wow, was there supposed to be some wit in that?

This is obviously a good deal for those that are looking for the program.

Oh, and by the way, the windows symbol is part of the english language?

I really wish that people who did crap like this would be banned. Do people not know that doing stuff like this just makes them look ignorant?
