Modems not too bad. I saw one for 9.95 no rebates about 5 months ago at OM. Finally put it in a system a few weeks ago. Easy install, and works fine. Does require a 233MMX or higher.
If you have a fast enough computer, over about 200 MHz with MMX, these modems are pretty decent. I bought three for $10 at Office Max a few months ago and they all work pretty decent.
i got this same modem from compusa a while back, however i can't get it to work..i install it correctly, but when i try to dial up, it said the modem is not connected or there is not dial tone..btw the computer that i installed on was a amd k6 166mmx. does the speed matter in order to get this modem to work???

As for Mach2 modem, it works great on my friend's new system (Duron 650Mhz). If you have Student Advantage card, it is free (or minus) after rebate.
Every time I see one of these WinModems for free (after rebate or whatever) they have no Win2000 drivers. From the Best Data website, it looks like this one is no exception.
Anyone try it with Win2k?
(My old Lucent WinModem was supposed to be Win2k compliant but wouldn't run - even with the newest driver updates)
