Machine powers down, now it wont power back up!

I was on the computer last night, when all of the sudden, it would power down out of the blue. I tried turning it on but nothing would happen so I let it sit there for about 10 minutes. After that, it would turn on. So I go back to working on it again, then 20 minutes later, it powers down again. This time, it doesn't power back up.

I've tried everything. I've unplugged everything, seated only the vid card, CPU and hard drive... it still won't turn on. I don't think it's the power supply since when I press the power switch, the red LED on the motherboard would light up as well as the green LED on my case. The fans, and whatever is connected to the PS won't power up though.

I have an Epox 8K7A w/ XP2100 TBRED-B and Crucial 2100 RAM.

I've tried reseating PCI stuff, taken out the CPU (it looked fine, no burns), reset the CMOS... everything. Is the motherboard dead or perhaps it doesn't like something?

Since your case fans aren't running I would say it was the PS.

Argh this is frustrating. I can't get a definite answer because the motherboard power LED and the case LED is still powering up.

Had the Computer worked stabily before? Jw since it could be a heat issue.

Or the summer heat could be gettin to it. What were ur temps if u can remember?
Maybe the fan on the HS died or something. I'd check the little things 1st. If the PSU blew you would hear a BANG!

Might be a PSU overheat.

Turns out to be a bad PS...

I don't know why it would die like that all of the sudden. I havent used the PS for more than 2 years (it's a 300watt Antec that came with Antex 830 tower).

I went to Fry's and bought a new 350watt antec... powers right up.
