Macromedia Flash/Dreamweaver 8 wont install

I've been trying to get Macromedia Flash 8 and Dreamweaver to install on my new PC (Windows Media Center Edition OS). Everytime I try to install it, it says "The wizard was interrupted before <product_name> could be completely installed."

I don't know why it's doing this. It worked fine on my other computer. I have done some Windows XP tweaks to my system such as disabling a bunch of useless services; I don't know if that could have affected it, but other stuff still installs.

I think it's either the OS or, you might wanna update Windows.

i use MCE and Studio 8...no problems at all...try it in safe mode?

Well, I'm trying to do the Windows updates, but the Windows updates icon on my start menu wont do anything AND it seems that nothing will download from microsoft.com. I'll try safe mode soon if I can't figure something out.

Edit: nvm... the updates say failed to install.

Edit2: I can't do the Windows updates because the update fails to download. Safe mode wont work because the Windows installer service can't be started... so I don't know what to do.

sounds to me like you got a hosed install of windows and need a reformat or rollback or something...if your windows installed service fails so are all your isntallers going to most likely and thus the reason u cant get studio to install

Well everything else seems to work fine. Like I said though, I disabled a lot of services, so I don't know if that has anything to do with it. Are there any services that may be required?

Edit: I got Windows updates to work. So maybe that'll help. They're installing now.

Edit2: Nope. Didn't help. I have no idea now.

Finally! I fixed it!

The problem was that the DCOM Server Process Launcher service was disabled.
