The sales persons called department manager who then called the store manager down. None of them could belive I had gotten such a good deal!! After a few phone calls I walked out with Timberland boots at 80% percent off the retail price!

You can exchange with a receipt IF Macy's carries the exact same line
in-store. I tried it with a pair of Timberland shoes (right size, but
too narrow for my feet) and they don't carry that line in-store. Note
also that apparently there is no way to cross reference your on-line
order sku with store stock. You need to find the exact same thing
on the floor and then try to do the exchange...If you can't,
the clerk can't help you...

I need to get a pair of shoes for work since my pair is in 1 piece. I like these but in the picture it looks brown and in the description it says Black. I only can way BLACK since that is the dress code.

Also earlier today I saw another pair of Alfani shoes and now I dont see them on the site. Can someone give me the sku so i can call CSR and see if I can order from there since I already placed an order for other stuff. Thanks

I am very pissed off at Macys right now. First I got an email stating that my order has been processed and the items will be shipped out soon, and then i got another email today saying this:

I cant believe they charged my credit card without them even having the items. Is their any way to complain about this. Anyone else experiencing this problem

Poppa,sorry to see that.There were a few here that wisely pointed out in the thread that this was a possibility after Macys got slammed by orders.As to any remedy,ill let others comment,but I dont think anything will change the outcome.What time did you place your order if it was on Monday?

BigP0ppa: I had the same as you. 8 items not shipped after spending near $300. Bad News - Im not gettin em now. Good news, after complaining to Macys CSR supervisor she gave me 10% discretionary discount as a one off on the remaining items. Hope this helps.

I still don't really understand why companies can't keep accurate track of their inventory. If they have a certain number of items and then orders are placed, what's the problem with accurately keeping track? That's one reason we have computers! I think the excuses they use...like high number of orders is no excuse. It seems like a very simple thing to subtract the order items placed from what the actual number is. They just need to get on the ball and correct the problem, since it's not only a problem for the customers....it also costs them more in the long run to spend the time straightening out the problem with the customers....and time is money.

I'm never buying from Macys.com again. I ordered something on Monday Jan. 21 and it has'nt even been shipped yet. I ordered some shoes and a sweater on the 16th also and have'nt received that yet either. There are great deals on the site but let's see if I'll ever get my stuff. I understand that shipping may take time, but a week just to get it to be shipped in the first place is retarded. I expected more from such a big company.

I say this now, but next week when they have some pants for $4.00 I'm going to get suckered in again! Damn Macy's and their trickery!

ivol.. I didn't get a ship notice either. Check on the site. Usually ships within 3days and then a tracking number goes up. My stuff from 1/14 just arrived two days ago (UPS ground is SLOOOOOOW).

That said, everything was great except for 1 item. My wife got all her cashmere and silk, but instead of my stonewashed jeans, they sent some ladies lingerie. Took me almost an hour to return it at the local Macys and they had to get the .com people on the line. They say you can return at the store, but when they send you the wrong item, good luck... Oh well. Have another shipment coming soon from the 21st for me...

Well checked my email today and got a shipping notification, so I pluged in the tracking number and it says UPS delivered it to the back of my house two days ago... So I wouldn't be worried if you don't get the shipping confirmation right away.

I called Macys.com today and they said it should be shipped today. We'll see. I'm not in a rush for the pants anyway. It is just a surprise that such a big company takes a week to get the product out. I think they need to streamline their system a bit. I also called UPS and they said that the people probably just did'nt scan the box, and it should be delivered today. I was a supervisor for UPS for a couple years and I know how hard it is to get those LAZY union members to scan a box. So that I understand. ( I don't like unions if you can't tell )

I'd like to add my short rant involving inventory.

I placed an order this morning for a coat at Saks (another thread on here). My order was processed completely. Later in the day I received an email saying the item was no longer available. This blows! The jacket was cool (at least to me). It also could have been the deal of the year: $1000 List - Sale Price $80.

This deal is so so. If you can actually get Macy's to give you what you ordered, you're golden, but I placed an order and everything was fine. Now I get an e-mail saying that half the stuff I wanted is no longer available and they can't do anything to get it to me. Even worse is the fact that if I talk to a sales person, they tell me that certain items will be sent to me (say A, B, C), but the e-mail I got other ones (B, C, D), and their online "order status" tells me yet another subset of my order (A, D, E) is going to be actually mailed to me. I sure hope that they get their database/sales people's computers/e-mail system discrepancy fixed stat as it's very annoying having to wait and see what actually arrives in the mail.

I've ordered from Macy's several times and have had no problems with any of my orders. If an item that was in my basket when I checked out happened not to be in stock, I was made aware of this prior to my final checkout. I've received each of my orders in a timely manner.

Today I got some cancellation emails...I had placed a second order with sheets and found some jeans still in stock that I hadnt seen before.The sheets were cancelled but they said the jeans and robe I ordered were shipped,so I wont complain.I guess they are handling this mass of orders bit by bit.

If Macy's cancels part of your order, the on-line order info can
get completely FUBAR'd...For some reason, in such a case, the
items in the on-line report can get reordered, but the prices,
quantities, and status fields don't travel with them. So you can
seemingly weird things ... Don't trust the on-line info in such
a case...
