Man i just can't listen to it, all the non-stop screaming in the background is over the top. seriously when did people start SCREAMING for a big balloons like they were Elvis or The Beetles. Also the 2 min of broadcast and 4 min of commercials is :thumbsdown:.

My kids high school marching band was in the Macys parade a few years back. For high school bands, Macys is about as big as it gets.

Have you ever lived in a small town? No floats, not balloons, no celebrities. Just the local high school marching band, some Shriners, the mayor, a couple police cars, and a seemingly endless procession of fire trucks from every VFD within 15 miles.

And people line the streets for it because that's all there is to do.

They could leave. If the highlight of your day is to watch the mayor drive by and wave I have to think that self-surgery is a better use of your time. Even if you accept the premise that small towns are so boring that Shriners can be considered as entertainment, explain something like the Macy's or Festival of Roses. Is life in New York City and southern California so monotonous that the only thing to do is watch people you don't know walk by? Hell, for that matter, please explain why people watch parades on TV. If you have a TV there HAS to be something better on. Any other channel, even if it's showing Duck Dynasty or Cop Rock reruns, would be an improvement.

I do not understand the concept of watching a live concert, parade, or fireworks on television. To me its utterly ridiculous.

I was in NYC last year for this, was a pretty good time with the huge crowd and overall happy people.
