I am going to be out of town next week so Blanghorst is our new commish
for a while.

A few quick notes:

- If you have claimed a team below but do not yet have a copy of the game, it's ok. You can join the league in-progress. If you think you will miss more than the first two or three weeks, please consider releasing your team.

- If you have your copy of the game but have not yet made arrangements to receive your in-game franchise invitation, please do so ASAP.

- If you see that you are scheduled to play a team that has been claimed, but that owner has not yet joined the league in-game, please avoid playing against the CPU as long as you can. We will not advance to Week 2 until Sunday, August 30th.

- If you still wish to participate, PM me with your team and gamertag. Joining the league while it's in-progress is no problem at all, and there still some great teams left. Our players range from the complete novice (me, for instance) to the advanced (Cudda, I presume). We are currently playing 5 minute quarters at the All-Pro difficulty.

LEAGUE INFORMATION

Because the game allows these settings to be modified while the season is in progress, these are not set in stone. For instance, if the majority of the owners in the league decide that a 7 minute quarter length would be preferable, we can hold a new poll.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR JOINING THE LEAGUE

Players join the league through in-game invitations. This does not require that we add each other to our friends list. To have your invitation sent, please do the following:

1. Activate the code on the back of your game manual (done through the in-game Online Franchise Menu)
2. Send jbourne77 PM indicating you are ready to be invited
3. When your invitation has been sent, your name will be bolded in the list below.
4. The league's password is atcg360.

Q: Can I join after your league has started?
A: Yes; this is not a problem at all.

Q: How many games per week will I need to play?
A: We are targeting 1, maybe 2, games per week. This is a casual league. Unfortunately, there is no "flex scheduling" (meaning any two players can play their games against each other whenever they're ready). Instead, the League Commissioner must "advance" the league from one week to the next manually. This will be done whenever 1) all owners have played their games, or 2) when 7 days from the start of the current week have elapsed: whichever comes first. This is designed to keep the league moving forward without pressuring people.

Q: Will there be a Fantasy Draft?
A: No. However, we may try this after the league's season is over.

Q: How do I join the league?
A: There is a 4-step process outlined above. You need to PM jbourne77 with your team and gamertag, activate your online franchise access, PM jbourne77 again when this has been done. Your invitation to join the league will then be sent in-game.

Q: Do we all need to add each other to our Friends List on Xbox Live?
A: No. The league's games can be coordinated entirely in-game.

Q: How were the league rules/settings set up? I don't like rule XYZ.
A: Every setting was set according to a poll for that setting. All rules were set according to majority vote. If a particular rule isn't working out, it can be altered at any time. Feel free to bring up any issues with the rules/settings in this thread.

We need to decide certain rules before starting - can you advance a week even if teams haven't played, assuming we set a deadline? Are we doing a fantasy draft? Will we have all 32 teams as human players (I suggest not)? Do we allow for CPU trading? What difficulty, quarter length, accelerated clock, etc?

doesn't work like that. You play the games whenever you can, so you can play a Week 2 game then a Week 14 game right after.

I'd say no fantasy draft, 5 min quarters & All-pro or All-madden?

Go ahead and plug that into the polls. FWIW, I agree. Shorter quarters, no draft, and pref. all-madden.

Will it really be faster to have all human teams? That would mean the two teams playing would have to be online at the same time to get through even one game.

I voted no on the fantasy draft. That may be fun for another season or league, but I want real teams for the first for sure.

Short quarters are preferred. Too long of games might make syncing up with opponents even more difficult.

Difficulty I am kinda stuck on. I haven't had Madden for a long time, so the hardest difficulty would probably just end with me getting ran over.

Again, it doesn't work on a week by week basis. So you just match up with who ever is online, doesn't matter what week the game was supposed to be played.

And everyone is going to have to be online with every other person at least once....so I don't understand what you're talking about.
