Steelers 23, Titans 20

Offensively, I dominated the game, but as expected, the CPU pulled out all of the stops, including a total BS penalty on 3rd and long: An NPC on my D-line hit the QB a split second after a pass and I got nailed with a personal foul / roughing the passer. This led to a TD when it should have been a turnover on downs. I also lost Parker (HB) during my first drive, and he didn't return until the second half. Roethlisburger, on the other hand, fell just 4 yard short (308) of usurping Manning as the league's leading passer . Sweed also had 112 receiving yards. I had to get cute with the clock at the end to seal the W: there was no way I was going to let the CPU have the ball after my final TD/FG just so it could lob an 80 yard bomb .

Manning picked apart the Jaguars defense all day, hitting long strikes to Wayne, Gonzalez, Addai, and Collie while avoiding the vaunted Jaguars defense.

Next up for the Colts are the Miami Dolphins.

It was kind of frustrating from a rushing perspective and to a lesser extent, passing. Addai started off OK but no matter what I did, it seemed the Jags knew exactly what I planned to do.

In terms of passing, Manning hit several long strikes to receivers who always seemed to get tackled inside the 5 yard line. Is it me, or does that seem way too common in Madden?

Apparently not.

Hmm I think I'll be in trouble in this league. I usually only score like 14 points vs the computer on default dificulty.

No, I meant in terms of the running game. I only rushed for 20 yards and I think the first run was something like 7 or 8 yards of that total. I think I probably had 15 attempts. They were ready for nearly every run, it seems. I tried dives, blasts, off tackles, etc, with similar results. I don't think I tried any counters, so maybe I'll try those next.

My only gripe on passing was the fact that my receivers usually got tackled inside the 5 yard line and in one such case, I threw over the middle and when the receiver went up to get it, it was obvious he would come down in the end zone. However, that didn't happen and I had to pound it in with the run. It doesn't matter and I did score, but I want to pile up those TD passes.

That happened to me the first time I played one of the mini-games. I went down and scored and thought I had the game won with 6 seconds left -- you can guess what happened next. :disgust:

Just got done playing my first week game. The league has a new leading rusher (Felix Jones, 174 yards and 3 TD's). Marion Barber didn't have a bad game either, with just over 100 yards on the ground. He was the pound to Felix's finesse. Overall, it was a dominating performance by the Cowboys, controlling the clock, field and scoreboard winning 31-0. The Dallas D came away with 4 sacks (2 from Terrence Newman) 3 forced fumbles with 1 recovered and an interception late in the game.

Maybe they added that "feature" as a homage to Tecmo Bowl.. It has been about 20 years now

Those rushing totals are insane. Good job.

I really have no idea what this is all about but it looks cool.

Is this online league/tournament setup all done THROUGH Madden? Is this a new feature?

Definitely interested...

So what's the key to the rushing game? I usually rush for about 50 yds.

Follow your blockers. Seriously, thats all I do.

But I have ALWAYS been a rush first type of guy. I've been rushing in Madden since I learned to walk. Its second nature to me. Keep in mind with the running game if you stick with it you will inevitably run into a 2nd and 11 and a 3rd and 8. Those are tough situations to deal with if you are a rush first offense. But if you can stick with it, its just a matter of time until you break a big one. Felix jones had 3 runs over 20 yards and Barber had 1 over 20. Barber had only 60 yards until his last carry of the game when he busted up the CB and was off to the races.

Yep... entirely through the game. If you're interested, feel free to pick up one of the remaining teams and let me know what your gamertag is.

Question -- I went to the web page which shows the franchises and I couldn't find ours. Is that something you have to enable?

I played around with rushing in practice last night and think I may have the hang of it. If I get time tomorrow (have to work late tonight), I'll try some rushing in my offline franchise and see if I get similar results.

Cool, I missed that on the left side before. I was trying to search and find our franchise and couldn't find it.

I thought Vick was added to the Eagles roster but I don't see him at all. Favre too...

I wanted to add Vick to my Wildcat formation.

Anyone know what up?

They are on the latest roster; maybe the franchise was created before that roster went live?

Oh dang I was thinking they'd just add him to our existing franchise.

Anyone want to trade a good receiver for Kiwanuka, a 85 rated Defensive end? Make an offer to the Giants.
