I have another question. I thought one of the features this year was that when you were on offense, the gamepad would rumble when the defense was getting close to the QB. Did I imagine that, or is that a feature?

There have been reports of one or two owners being mysteriously booted from the franchise. We will *never* remove a player from the league without 1) discussing any problems with said player first, and 2) passing a league-wide vote. So, if you find that you have been booted from the league, please inform me ASAP and don't take it personally - rest assured, if this happens to you it is NOT intentional!

We will advance to WEEK 5 Sunday, 9/20

Just an FYI - if I go to play my game for the week and see it's vs the CPU - even if someone here has "claimed" it - I'm going to play the CPU. I think we're far enough into it that those serious about playing are in.

It's not as fun, but oh well. Miami next week is a human opponent, I think.

At this point, I'm going to go back to our list and remove any names that have claimed teams but have not actually joined the league yet. So I agree - those that were serious about joining the league are already here... no need to tie up the teams.

Hey guys, I'd like to just say that I hope everyone is playing SIM style. We all know there are glitches/things you can take advantage of in this game, especially without sliders to balance things out. I just had a great game with GORCorps (lost 16-17, went for two on my final TD with seconds left to win the game). But I had a previous game where one of the players I played against just ran the same play over and over and over. I don't want to get any shit started, so I didn't mention it at the time, but please please please play realistic. Running the same play over and over is not realistic, neither is running the same 3 plays over and over. This league is for fun, not to show your e-peen by being undefeated while playing a completely gimped style of play. Just my thoughts on the subject.


On a related note, Gorcorps I hate you. Had I not thrown that pick in the endzone in the third quarter I might have been up 17-3 instead of the 10-10. Then when you INTERCEPTED my pitch (yes, it was a run play and his fucking dlineman intercepted the pitch) it completely crushed my momentum. Good game man and you're lucky Felix Jones was out

Yeah, that was a total luck-out of a win... I won't deny it. You picked your home jerseys when I had mine too and it was damn hard to tell our players apart, so that was a small part of my problem. The other part is that I'm just not all that good

Regarding that, while I haven't seen it done in this league, I had someone pick the Eagles and run with Vick all game. Really makes the game no fun. 95% of the time I'm going with one of Madden's suggestions (scary, huh?).

I certainly don't use all of the playbook, but I pick my O and D plays from about 15 - 20 that I've become really familiar with. I don't run the same ones over and over again (boring), but by the 4th quarter, chances are you're seeing me run a play you've already seen before.

I'm generally a fan of people who only have 1 or 2 "cheese" plays, because by the 2nd half I will have them figured out and can stop them every time. And if they like to run with a guy like Vick, just get your defensive linemen to attack the outside - where they typically scramble to. But if someone can beat me by running the same play or two, then good for them.

As far as playing a sim-like game - I won't say I actively pad stats, but I haven't been holding back to keep scores realistic.

My bigger pet-peeve are the people who are playing the CPU, losing, and then restarting to get a win. Take the loss, move on. It's not a big deal.

I don't have a problem with seeing the same place more than once, nor do I have a problem with very high scores. But a cheeser who is also good is VERY difficult to stop. I'll tell you right now there are a couple of plays that I could run over and over and you'd be very hard pressed to stop them. Mix that in with some other plays, and when I need that third down conversion, my cheese play will get it for me. Get my drift?

One other thing, while we are on the topic. I don't know if its just me, but it seems that fast running backs are ridiculously overpowered the way we have this league setup. I play with the Cowboys and I can tell you right now that Felix Jones is WAAAAAY harder to stop than Marion Barber. If I get outside with Felix, its over. Same thing with other quick RB's in the league, but I don't think there is any way to stop this without having control over different sliders

well, I just had a ridiculous game and it has made me realize: playing on fast/all-pro against a good team is fucking stupid. But, playing against the Lions however, is hilarious.

Cutler - 17/36, 436 yards, 8 TDs (NFL record)

Hester - 6 reception, 334 yards (336 NFL record which i missed by getting tripped up on the last play), 4 TD's, 476 all purpose yards

Bears 56 - Lions 6

AFAIC if people don't communicate then they should be booted by mid-day Saturday so you can play the CPU. Then you can let them back in once they understand they have to be on top of this stuff.

It was not a wise decision on EA's part not to allow the commissioner to easily flip a team to CPU controlled to account for people who are unavailable to play. I will be out of town November 25 through December 9 and that means that the person who plays me those weeks will have to live with the results of the sim. That isn't right, not was it right that I could not play the CPU last week when my opponent was out of town.
