That's the same reporter who said last night that he thought it was Trump who leaked the document. I guess he changed his mind as of this morning. But I'm unimpressed with his reasoning. Trump's "venom" over this was feigned. The reporter is getting played.

That's not what he said. He said its entirely possible that trump himself leaked it but they have no idea.

He nonetheless changed his tone this morning from being suspicious of Trump's involvement to being convinced it wasn't Trump. His reason is not sound.

As someone who actually watched the whole RM segment I can say he has in fact not changed his tone and repeated what he said the other night.

I didn't hear him say last night that the "venom" in the White House statement was a reason to believe Trump didn't leak the docs. Either way, regardless of what he said last night versus today, I disagree with his reasoning.

The release of this document helped Trump and made one of his chief critics look foolish. Trump couldn't possibly have been pissed. He had to be jumping for joy. This so-called venom is fake.

More post-truth bullshit with scurrilous accusations, not to mention it being completely diversional & off topic. Tax law is such that the govt can't change things after the fact, anyway. If a trust or anything else was legal at the time it won't be disallowed later.

Wth are you talking about? Her tax plan was widely published and its a fact that she has trusts and the general type they are. It is also a fact that her tax plan, while calling for higher estate taxes, did not address the trust structure that her and numerous other wealthy people use to avoid the existing estate tax laws on non-trust entities. To call any of that post-truth or scurrilous is to dismiss easily verifiable facts. Only you have said anything about a trust being 'disallowed' or made statements regarding the legality of a trust - which makes no sense. Just because the applicable tax law on something changes that doesn't mean its 'disallowed' or illegal. Capital gains don't suddenly become illegal when Congress changes the tax rate. I am sorry you don't understand tax law but Congress can change tax law anytime they please - even if its after the fact. GSTTs have been subjected to several different tax law changes even though, in many cases, the originator has passed away making it irrevocable so no changes can be made to the trust to deal with the new laws that didn't exist when it was formed. If Congress wanted to they could, right now, change the laws on Roth IRA contributions and so that they would be double taxed (at the time of contribution and at the time of withdrawal) even though it would be 'after the fact' for a huge group of Americans who have already made their contributions.

In a thread with comments about Trump cherry picking his returns I think it is relevant that his competitor only released 25% of her tax returns.

Seriously, how stupid are you?

First, you have no idea as to what is an accurate representation of the tax rate Trump generally pays because he won't release his tax returns. He could have paid nothing for the entire decade between 1995 and 2005 and only started paying taxes again that year. Talk about dishonesty, right?

Second, I wasn't trying to compare anyone's tax rates, I was pointing out Zerohedge's ineptitude and hypocrisy. The idea that you're trying to say someone was being dishonest about a point they weren't even trying to make is yet another case of you shitting your pants in the funniest way possible.

Finally and most importantly, the 0% is not just relevant it is in fact the entire point. It shows Zerohedge ignoring inconvenient facts to try and paint a narrative, which was the entire point of my post.

Seriously guy once again you're just making a small mistake you made so much worse by doubling and tripling down instead of just admitting error. As usual, it took about two posts for the insults, the claims of lies, etc to start flying from you. You seriously need to learn how to handle criticism like an adult.
It's now apparent that we completely disagree about loss carryforward and the legitimacy of using these tax years as a basis for making tax liability comparisons. And you seem angry. Personal problems?

Fox News was cited by Trump accusing the Brits of spying on Trump for Obama. Brits have confirmed this is completely false.

Waiting for the collective Maddow like outrage against Fox in 3....2....1....

Oh that will never happen

It would appear that we do! If I were trying to compare tax liabilities between two people I would look at their average over many years, especially if I knew it was likely that for a good portion of those years someone paid little or no tax. This is common sense and I am very sure you realize this.

And you seem angry. Personal problems?

I'm great actually but thanks for asking!

It's nice that if you aren't adult enough to admit you made a mistake you at least are still able to separate intellectual disagreement from your own personal emotions and care for others.

Just curious what's the higher iq crowd that you're presumably part of.
It's so fucking comical, you just can't resist replying to a post that has IQ in it can you? You really need to get some help with whatever social anxiety disorder you have keeping you stuck to that chair in your mothers basement. There is so much good you could and should be doing with your 287 IQ but yet you spend all your time in here trying unsuccessfully to convince people you have the answer to every question, and that they are so much more stupid than you. Perhaps you might actually do something for the betterment of humanity with all your intelligence instead of refreshing your browser's search for IQ and Conservatives.

Just read this whole thread, absolutely fantastic

Starts of with the usual idiots getting all hyped up about the big reveal... and then slowly it becomes clear madcow and her fellow idiots got played like fiddles. Again. Now they are angry for being played like fools and want to blame Trump

So it turns out the Trumpster made money and paid more in taxes than most of the lefties. He comes out looking great, they come out looking stupid and petty.... again. For a guy the left tries to say is braindead and stupid, he sure seems to be able to manipulate and troll the lefties quite successfully -- over and over and over and over and over.

Thanks for helping me start the day with a great laugh guys!

You really think Trump himself is smart enough to come up with this as a plan? He is on national TV stating that his source of info on the "wiretapping" comes from the NYT, a paper he has routinely tried to discredit, and an interview with Ryan. Neither of them said anything about Trump towers being tapped. By him saying that Trump towers were tapped because the White House had communications between the Trump campaign and Russia is basically stating he knew of the communications, something he adamantly refutes. The man is so fucking stupid that he doesn't understand that the agency he claims was tapping him is now under his direct command, and that he could find out from the source if he was in fact tapped. He says shit so that his followers have something to talk about over the case of Budweiser with the American label. They like him, are to fucking stupid to know that AB is a Belgian company. He may have some smart people around him to get him out of some of the shit he says/does, but he himself is as dumb as a fucking rock.

Lovely false equivalency. The Clintons have released their returns from 1977 forward. Trump released zero returns for his 2016 campaign.

That 25% number is just something you pulled out of your ass.

Sure he is. He's done that kind of thing before. I'm not the one making that claim, it's been put forth by the lefties that he himself "leaked" the information. Either way, he comes out ahead, and the media (in this case madcow) has egg on her face.

What does any of this ranting and raving have to do with the topic of the thread, the release of Trump tax returns on madcow's show?

The man is so f*cking stupid that he doesn't understand that the agency he claims was tapping him is now under his direct command, and that he could find out from the source if he was in fact tapped. Rawrwalaraghpgaousdfapryepata... Lots of angry ranting and raving with no point. That "dumb as a rock" guy is sitting in the white house and continues to successfully troll the media ... you're in your moms basement helplessly flailing away in anger. I think it's pretty clear who is really dumb as a rock.

Hilary has 4 tax returns to file per year. She releases 1 per year. Thats 25%. Simple math. Those trusts are legal entities linked to her through which she flows money and assets. Just because you don't understand that doesn't make it wrong.

Trump doesn't have any legal entities linked to him through which he flows money and assets?

Wait, you think I'm in my mothers basement and you're calling me dumb? I've not lived in anyone's anything since I was 12, and I've been earning my own living as well as providing for others for 20+ years. When did you branch out on your own?

Correction there was a time when you paid for my living quarters, (assuming you've paid taxes and are not one of those who sucks the government teat) but I really didn't have a choice in the matter.

As for the "smart guy in the White House", he received the same number of votes as a percent of the population as every other R since The Gipper. There is a core base of voters that pull a lever and couldn't care less who's on it. So I wouldn't attribute to much in the way of smarts the the man. I wonder... how giddy would you be if Hillary had won and 'trolled the media'... Or is it just because your guys in there.

she did troll the media, as well as the DNC and Bernie and over half of the US.

she told everyone she was the best candidate for the Democrats.

that's a troll level that can never be seen again.

I was just curious what was going on in his head. Also just fyi it's not my purpose here or in general to convince morons, just mock them for amusement. In fairness to you & probably other who mistakenly believe this, that's what many liberals aim to do, which I also mock at times.
