If a 7 year old is that stupid, s/he should be wearing a helmet. 7 is 2nd grade. You learn to tell time in 1st.
Yeah mine isn't that old and is already setting the coun tdown timer function on their watch and playing with chrono settings, too.

She probably didn't understand what "for the 100th time, don't ring the bell 7" meant. Most people don't have more than 1 bell.
Furthermore, you said you had already told her 100 times, then when you told her again, it was the 100th time (again).
Stop trying to confuse children.
You make as much sense in real life as you do here, that's quite an accomplishment.
She's probably as surprised as we all are that you have children of your own.

This was funny

Also, that kid needs to learn time and respect. While I think it's silly a grown man needs to nap, the kid still needs to respect others' time and property.

What a simple to solve problem. Can't you think?

The kid next door does not want to wake you in any way, she just wants to hangout with one of your children.

So grow a brain and learn to think, devise a way for your neighbor to communicate with your children, such that she gets a yes no without waking you in the process. After all, your children have privacy rights too. But if they want to interact with your neighbor, you can win win sleep through it.

wtf are u doing out of P&N????? :awe: have u played the new Mortal Kombat yet? its sweeet!

What's more, he posted here a little while ago saying he was considering adopting a special needs kid.

However, I am sympathetic to the OP on this one. He acted poorly, but it's "kinda" understandable under the circumstances.

damn P, always bringing up old shit.. IRL, i am a pretty responsible dood. i can handle kids. i admit i lost it a bit on this one though. oh well....life goes on.

unless she's a retard, you better believe she can count and tell time.

My 6 year old can count and tell time... a 7 year old better be able to

you have kids?! now THAT's scary as fuck!

If I tell a kid not to ring my doorbell before 7, they better not ring my doorbell before 7. The kid's not made of glass, I have a right to sleep, and it's MY doorbell. You people sound like he took a golf club to her.

He didn't make her cry- her parents made her cry by not teaching her to pay attention when an adult talks. It wasn't fifteen minutes early, it was TWO HOURS, and he'd told her many times. Seven years old and can't respect other people's property or handle extremely simple instructions? I could handle "don't do X before X" when I was three or four.

However, there are better solutions. Did you tell the kid you're sleeping during that time? Did you ever go talk to her parents? Why don't you tell your kid to go over to their place instead?

best post yet (after mine, of course). the kid was told 3 times today. wifey told me she came by once before i got home, when i got home, and when i was asleep. my kids dont want to go over to their house. they have liek 3 dogs. parents play WoW and Farmville all day :/

well now i just feel bad for that kid. she probably hates it at home too and is just coming over to get away from her deadbeat parents. you should start a reward system if she doesn't show up.

I don't think she was retarded just neglected by parents and teachers. You would be surprised how many kids her age can't read or tell time tie their shoe laces etc.
I was shocked too, friend has an 8 year old and she and her friends don't know man many things.
The OP should ask the kid what time it is next time when she is around and point at a clock.

Could you try to have their family call your house during that time?

If they could call and it doesn't interrupt your sleep, it'd be a better solution.

I only get about four hours of sleep a night, so I can understand what you're going through.

The little one will survive. No harm, no foul.

I was recently in a toy store and a mother with 4 kids was pushing her cart down the aisle towards me. The youngest in the herd was riding in the cart and screaming at the top of his lungs. Part of me marveled at his lung capacity even as the flesh was flayed from my head by the inhuman piercing quality of the tantrum. I was quite convinced that dogs were shivering under porches and car alarms were going off in a four block radius. I snatched off my glasses in fear they would shatter before my eyes as I glanced around for the Angel of mercy to lead me towards the light. I would have gritted my teeth but they'd already turned to chalk dust. Summoning super human determination, I left the area and as I passed their cart, I screamed from the bottom of my toes into the face of the little one. He was shocked into silence for at least .5 seconds before grinning and screaming back albeit at a thankfully less deadly volume.

Jesus some of you people. Sometimes a kid needs to be yelled at. Guess what, they won't suddenly combust if you do so.

That reminds me of when a neighbor kid (about 12 years old IIRC) woke my dad up one evening to complain that my sister had beaten him up. He demanded my father punish her. Needless to say, he got no satisfaction.

Do you feel like a man now?

Oh, the irony.

I didn't read the OP, but now that I know he hit her with a golf club I have to chime in.
SandEagle, what's wrong with you man? You shouldn't hit a little girl with a golf club, that is messed up. Golf clubs are expensive.

LOL

How bout since you're such a sensitive sleepy baby you just install a switch that disables your doorbell instead of yelling at a 7 year old who doesn't remember what they had for breakfast much less your retarded nap time schedule?

One one hand, I could get some ear plugs and fix the problem. Nah, fuck that. I'll just snap on this little girl instead because I'm trying to sleep at 5pm.

Do you realize how stupid you sound? You couldn't think of any other way to handle the situation?

Who better to raise a special needs kid than a guy with special needs. Apparently one of those special needs is acting like a COP and making a little girl cry.

What? If someone won't stop ringing his doorbell when he doesn't want them to, it's his responsibility to BUY AND INSTALL A SPECIAL LOCKOUT SWITCH? So if their dog craps in his yard, it's his fault for not putting up a fence?

If you don't want random shit in your yard, then yes, build a fence. If not, expect shit in your yard.
