I have finally made the switch to a notebook as my main PC.
I am tired of fooling with desktops. They are loud, ugly and take up space.
My HP NC6000 is virtually silent and takes up a tiny ammount of space.
I'm not looking back.

I switched to a laptop and just ordered a new one the other day to replace the one I bought off eBay. My only problem now is to decide what to do with my desktop.

Sell it in the FS/FT section with the possibility of parting it out.
They are also cheaper, more powerful, and easier to upgrade. As far a loud and ugly go, both of those are easy fixes. Mobility is the only reason I have a laptop.Originally posted by: Trinitron

Awesome! I made the switch about five years ago myself starting with a Dell Latitude C840 given to me by my boss. It was kinda crappy, so after a year he gave me an HP NC8000, the bigger brother to the NC6000 you have. Man I loved that machine! It was the nicest Windows machine I've ever owned (of course it cost them $4000). I'm now on a MacBook Pro (that I paid for) and I doubt I'll ever go back to owning a desktop again. I do miss the upgradeablility for playing games, but surfing the net on my recliner while watching the Panthers play football just can't be beat (except when they're winning).
