the tag at the store said its till the 16th. best price i've seen so far, usually its 25ish at target or walmart

best deal for a 3 watt light out there!

and apparently not saddled with the heat problems of the c/d 3watt mags since those had led assemblies limited to size of old bulb for backwards compability. this ones head is slightly longer than the old version. normally at this price you only get 1watt or worse dorcy/garrity type flashlights at these stores. much better than those cheezy upgrades that use those cheap 5mm leds in clusters or whatever. don't buy those!

i have the 3AA version, i like it over the 2AA. longer runtime and slightly brighter beam. but it is significanly longer length than the 2AA which is longer than the 2AA regular mini-mag.

I can't find it at Target.com. They list over 60 flashlights and lanterns, but I haven't found one Maglite.

EDIT: I did find 'one' maglite. It was the old style one and is bundled with a Swiss army knife for about $50.

OP, I hope this is not thread craping, but you can get an LED conversion bulb for the 2AA mag lites at Wally World. They are 4.72 and have great battery light and life. I have one next to my computer to see what I am doing, and just got a second conversion for my other 2AA mag lite. Best thing ever for them. Of course you have to have a 2AA light to start with.

Mag light finally went LED? I wrote them off 1 1/2 years ago because they ignored LED tech. Maybe theres still a chance for them yet.

FYI:

Just got back from Home Depot, they have the 3AA version of the LED Mini for $15.xx. Should be on sale until the 1st. This was at the Vinings, GA HD. There were many left, picked up one for myself.

FYI: You can buy conversion kits to convert your "old" bulb flashlight to LED.

I've seen AAA and AA kits....not sure about the larger sizes...

BTW, I like that review posted earlier.... interesting to see you lose 25% of brightness within 30 minutes....and 3.5hrs run time on a set of AA's.

The Nite-ize LED upgrade kits pale in comparison to the 3 watt AA MAGlites.
I know because I bought the LED upgrade for my inspectors at work many months ago, when MAG had no LED versions. Its battery life was the main reason, as they were burning through a set of batteries every so many hours. No focusability and a low wattage LED, but still as good as a regular MAG for what they needed.
I bought the 3 watt for myself last week, when they were on sale for $19.44 at my B&M Target.
Nice light, great MAG construction, focusable beam. I can't say the light from appears much brighter than the 1 watt Taskforce I bought at Lowes for $2.50, though.

No doubt this is true, but if you already have the old mag lites sitting around this is a cheap upgrade. The Nite-ize LED's are WAY better than stock. Now when I pick up my mag lite it works instead of having dead batteries all the time. For our inspectors at work we went to 4 AA Luxeon Streamlight flashlights. They are flame throwers with nice battery life.
