On the subject of widescreen vs. fullscreen Harry Potter, I was all set to go for the wide until I came upon
this interesting comparison, which cleverly shows some 20 screen shots both ways and strongly suggests that the filming was done with both formats in mind. Now I'm leaning toward doing the whole screen thang...

I went to my local CompUsa and they were out of stock. They said they had 160 copies and in an hour they were all gone.
I just grabbed a flyer on the way out and went to Best Buy. They didn't give my 110%, but I didn't think to ask either.
Oh boy I lost $0.70.
They did price match without any problem since I had the flyer with me.

Just to point out in the flyer it says nothing about a rebate. It says "instant savings", which is not a rebate and then the others stores
must price match, unless they call to check stock. They can always refuse if CompUsa has none.

I got in the line @ 9 in Huntsville, AL, they ran out of widescreens, went ahead and got a fullscreen version though, so next I went to Wallyworld with the ad and they pricematched the widescreen version for 9.97, now it's back to CUSA to take back the standard one.

While this is an interesting case as the director did clearly have both formats in mind (which is not the case in 99% of formatted for TV vids), me still thinks that Widescreen is the way to go. Mostly, I just want to remind people that cases in which both formats are considered during filming are rare, and in most cases you would be a fool to waste your money on crippled fullscreen prints.

Best Buy sucks! I went to the City of Industry one to pricematch but they said they couldn't since CompUSA was out of stock. That's a bunch of bs since they've never checked the other times I've pricematched things. My gf just ended up buying the DVD for $16.99 anyways. Oh well. Sigh, BestBuy is getting worse and worse these days.

Sorry to hear that dude.....I was there at the Ciry of Industry BB when they open.....I had already purchased one from CC next door at Compusa's price....then went back to BB to get a second copy for a friend....the lady at the CS counter was very nice, I gave her the ad the she was just about to PM it for me, while a guy(I don't know why, but this very same guy always try to give me trouble when I go to BB, one time he warned me about something I had never done, like cheating on BB or something like that......)told her to call and check if Compusa had it instock.....then I show her my CC's receipt, and she PM it right away.....I would recommand you to go back later with your BB receipt and PM...I think this way they can't give you that out of stock crap.....

I love Wal-Marts price matching... Picked up 3 of them for $9.97+tax each...

They didnt even bother to call local stores, she just rang it up and asked if she could keep the ad to use herself

I picked up the fullscreen versions, worth the trip back to exchange them for the widescreen?

Hahahaha, good luck finding them anymore! I couldn't believe how fast they were gone! We sold out every one of our 120 copies of the movie in 2 hours!!!

I can't believe people wanted it so bad.

I was at the compusa store in Burbank at around 11 but of course they were out of stock. When I was driving out of the parking structure there I decided to give the CC across the street a try. They were very nice and PM without a problem. They know CUSA was out, but they gave the 110% anyways. The CS behind the counter said 'we here at CC are all about the custumer service. You won't find that at Bestbuy.' and I will have to agree. since I pick up six copies.
