magnetic car mounts for my android

I've been using the airfame but I dislike how it heats up my phone when using the heater.

I've seen these magnetic car mounts on amazon where you slip a thin magnetic strip between the phone and your case which then attaches to the magnetic car mount.

What are your thoughts on them. Does the magnetic strip get in the way when your not using it in the car (accidentally attracting keys or other metal components, seems dangerous, no?)

Bought two Mountek CD slot magnetic mounts. They work great, but I gave mine away since the metal plate interferes with wireless charging.

It can mess with your compass. Don't expect to use NFC or Qi wireless charging if the plate covers your coils or antennas.

I would expect Gmaps to go batshit crazy with a mount like that, which is the only reason why I'd want a mount. Navigation.

Navigation on my iPhone 5s and iPhone 6 Plus has been great with the Mountek nGroove Snap.

I use a cupholder mount rather than dash or vent. Good enough to glance at for GPS nav, and music I just control through steering controls.
