Main Hobby - What is yours?

Name the hobby that you are currently involved in.

I usually pick up a new hobby every 2-3 years.

This thread could bring some little known hobbies to light.

Olympic weightlifting. I train 8-9x a week for it.

I have been unable to since '96, but I love driving and operating almost any kind of machinery. I miss driving, but that fits the thread as it's still something I would be doing a lot (because I like it) if I could.

I also love messing with computers, both hardware and games.
A small part of that is me trying to put together a classic DOS gaming system. So far, I have an SB16 ISA jumpered version, an SB AWE32 with soundfont SIMMs, a PCI 12MB Voodoo(2?) video card, and a P2-350 I hope to set at 200 if I can find a good BX chip mobo for it. I also have a zip drive, very handy for DOS work.

I drive race cars. Racing has been a major part of my life since I was born, and hopefully always will be.

I dunno if I really have a "main hobby" any more ....

I used to be a real hardware/gaming junkie, but I haven't upgraded my gaming PC in two years, and it looks like I won't be upgrading any time soon.

I went through several years of being a Linux/BSD junkie, but now I'm down to just 2 Linux boxes, one of them my server, and the other one my HTPC. I broke down and bought a wireless router last year after my OpenBSD router died. (it was an old compaq celeron box with 128mb of ram)

I am a bit of a home theater/movie junkie still, I probably watch 3 or 4 movies per week, but that's not as much as I used to watch.

I bought a handgun last year and go to the range every now and again, it's fun and it's a great stress relief.

I like making fires, and now that it's not freezing outside in the evening, I make bonfires in my fire pit a few days per week, it's very relaxing and I also enjoy eating marshmallows

I have no specific main hobby that I can think of.

I like electronics, games, hacking any and everything I can, working on car, riding my motorcycle, hiking, camping, swimming, seeing movies, but I don't think any one of those is something I'd consider my hobby.

I used to be into Nitro RC's a bit but it got to be to expensive and time consuming so I got out of it.

I used to have quite a few hobbies that I did and was good at.
Painting and theater were the main two. I also wrote a lot and got much of it published.
I need to get back doing those things

I have a lot of interests I'm passionate about, so depending on the person they'll know me for different things. Overall though, I think everyone would think that food and drink is my main "hobby" My main interests include:

1) Piano
2) Chess
3) Astronomy
4) Photography
5) Reading (does this count? I love books)
6) Cooking
7) Winemaking, tasting, etc.
8) Traveling (not sure if this counts either, but the wife and I go on vacations at least half a dozen times a year or more)

I used to ride motorycycles and go golfing all the time. but with my RA and Fibromylsa getting worse i stoped. Also didnt help that a round of golf is $15 (for 9 holes).




edit: oh yeah also enjoy cooking and grilling out (do it all year even if i have to shovel snow to do it heh)

starting to get into bakeing.

Fishing and gaming lately. So far this year I've built a new PC and got a PS3. Also got a new rod and reel to fish with, too bad I have yet to catch a fish on it (caught several on my old one, funny how that works).

used to be big into drawing/painting. But no time for that anymore
now, I'd say working out (although I only seem to work out religiously between the months of Jan thru Aug/Sept). Try to hit the gym 6x a week

i wish i could draw/paint. unfortanatly anything i do looks like something a 1st grader did..after he was hit in the head with a bat..twice.
