Playing right into Trump's plan for not election but for reelection.
Here's the plan....
Trump, tonight in Florida, to begin his reelection bid. To hold a massive rally.
However, to get the press on board that Trump will need, Trump must first do something or say something outrageous hours before the campaign kick-off to get the attention.
So today Trump announces millions of illegals to be rounded up and deported starting next week.

So now, Trump knows he has the full attention of the mainstream media. The plan begins.
Trump knows all the major networks will "Breaking News" to cover his kick-off rally tonight in Florida.
Once again Donald Trump controls the day having the full media playing right into his hands.
And absolutely.... the mainstream media will cover live this rally in Florida. They have to. They can't help it.
Trump will guarantee the ratings, and the media will eat it up.
Rachael will be in mid sentence when MSNBC cuts away.
Wolf Blitzer unable to get a word in edgewise when CNN breaks away.
And Hannity will be patiently waiting for his chance to GO LIVE TO FLORIDA.

And just as in 2016, the mainstream media will hand Donald Trump all the live coverage needed to consume all of the attention, like a black hole devouring everything up.
Donald Trump is about to be handed a second term. And it all starts tonight in Florida with all the usual suspects in play.

And as Donald Trump takes over every TV screen in America, Joe and all of the others will disappear into the shadows.

I would expect Trump will rely on the same tough points from his last campaign. He can't continue the lock-her-up theme, but the rest will be resurrected. My guess his playbook will be:

1) The economy is great. best economy in the history of the world. More jobs, better wages everyone is happy
2) Foreign policy is great. Beat ISIS solo. turned back North Korea. Neutered Iran. saved Syria from the "bad guys". stopped terrorism.
3) world trade -- Made the best deal that has ever been made with Mexico. Crushed China into submission. created favorable deals with every nation on earth with US coming out ahead in every deal.
4) Look at my wife -- would a loser have a wife like this? no? I didn't think so.
5) Deep state is getting crushed -- I did all this while besieged by traitors from within.
6) fixed the corrupt justice department
7) fixed the corrupt FBI
8) I didn't collude with Russia and if I did, it's not a crime. In fact, I can ask them for help even now. "russia, if you have dirt on my competitors send it over" "no that's a joke..." "no but really do"
9) save Israel because, you know, I love the Jews.
10) If you don't re-elect me there will be either a revolt or a market crash or both that I will have nothing to do with.

The only way he loses is if Americans really don't care about truth, or justice or basic decorum. If everyone stays away from the voting booth and just lets the right talk them out of voting or makes it so difficult that people can't get their vote counted. If young people stay home as always and just close their eyes and down their CBDs not caring about what all this could mean. If that happens the republic is lost and rightfully so.

Press should just send one pool reporter AP/Rueters and record it. If he makes some kind of legitimate news then play it back. No live coverage.

at least he documented that here. Who knows if that still sticks. He probably likes that Trump has charged him more to live in this country and fucked up his healthcare as best he can, though. Those who identify with grand old American delusions, that Trump has wrapped himself in, have Egos that will not allow them to see it. Granted, many, far too many, are as stark raving mad as Trump himself. They ARE Trump. Yet many others are lost to the delusion that he is the definitive and quintessential Republican. The "self made man" who will help make bootstraps real again. All their delusions of grandeur will become real if they just ignore his vile nature. Their Egos will not allow them to determine shit from bread. So they beg for more.

I personally know some Trumpians and I have witnessed the power of delusion first hand. Such contests are beyond the reach of policy, it comes down to more primitive themes and arguments. We would have just as much luck with a !@#$ measuring contest rather than pretending that there is an informed election occurring next year. Educated and Informed are not the words I would use to describe the American people and their penchant for voting. Unfortunately.

Our best bet for stopping Trump... is Trump himself. Incumbency unravels many of the lies he has told. People conscious enough to see that may yet win the day. As for the media, yes it would help if they finally stopped paying for the entirety his campaign through 24/7 free publicity and communication. They are directly responsible for 2016 and we need them to reconsider funding his 2020 campaign as well. Given the margins last time, every bit counts.
