Maintenance cost of a water filter

Hi, I need to get a bit insight on the maintenance cost of water filters including carbon, RO and RO +UV+UF. I have to buy the filter based on its yearly maintenance cost. Also which manufacturer provides maximum warranty and excellent after sales service? Thank you in advance.

What type of usage? What is the water for? How good is your source water? How many gallons per day? Where are you located? (what country?)

You do know...this is primarily a computer based forum...not a water filtration forum. While we may have people who can give SOME answers to your questions, you might get better answers from a forum that is more water-oriented.

My suggestion is just to go with carbon filters. UV sounds expensive, and would mostly kill microbes/viruses and not really filter contaminants to my knowledge.

UV can be pretty effective when used as part of a water filtration system, especially if you're on well water or another suspect water source and want to kill all bacteria/microbes/viruses in the water.

MOST DI resins aren't "food safe" quality for drinking water...it's available, but you should verify before buying if the intent is to drink the water. (plus, DI water usually tastes pretty flat due to the lack of minerals in it)

if all you care about is cost, just tie a cloth over the faucet, tada, it's 'filtered'

what exactly you're trying to filter out and the quality of your existing water will drive much of the decision making

if you're trying to filter chlorine, charcoal is great

lead or viruses? not so much
