It appears that there is a general problem with the MSI NEO4 SoundBlaster support for digital audio output.
Several of us have tried hooking this up and using every combo of settings; direct digitial out, encoded out, all different speaker configurations and so on.
The problem is that using the SoundBlaster config problem to test the channels or using DVDs with multichannel output we only get stereo output from the SPDIF.
I've also seen three other posts indicating this same problem on the MSI Neo4 sticky thread.
Does anyone have it working?
We've contacted MSI but they have not responded.
So you may want to hold off getting the MSI board based on Anand's strong endorsement of the audio - you may being disappointed.
