snowfall rates of 1-3 inches per hour are possible. There is the potential for the hardest-hit areas to receive 1-2 feet of snow from the storm.

yep. the news around here LOVES to hype up any snowfall that we're going to get like the world is about to end. they love to cause panics so that grocery stores are busier than they are at thanksgiving time. it's annoying as shit.

and 90% of the time they are completely wrong about how much we're going to get, so it's hard to believe anything that is being said now.

The "by me" is the part nobody knows. The weathermen are pretty sure somebody is getting 2 feet, somebody else is getting a foot and somebody else is getting a couple of inches. They just don't know where. Current track is DC gets socked, NYC gets the moderate amount and north and west of that are spared as it goes out to sea south and east. But this is one of those storms where 100 miles makes all the difference. If it turns a little south or goes east a little earlier NYC gets almost nothing and if it turns north early or takes less of a turn east then New York gets the 2 feet and the DC area gets a few inches.

Yeah, I hate hearing about these storms this early. For a hurricane sure, you'd need some preparation. But for a snowstorm I don't need any more food or items than I already have on-hand or could get 1 or 2 days before the storm when there's more certainty.

Hehehe, I have two overnight trips already booked and paid for next summer. :biggrin:

The long range trips are killing it this season with cow tuna in the 250+ pound range. I just don't have the time to spend 10-12 days on a 110' fishing boat.

You have to have open water somewhere. A buddy and I went Bass fishing last weekend, caught a few. Pretty fun to fish for them in January.
