Do you guys remember that thing by Sony called emarker? It was a thing you put on your key chain and if you hear a song you don't know on the radio, then you push the button and the when you get home, you put the thing into your computer and it tells you the song and title. I was curious so got one at Walmart for what I thought was $19.88. When they scanned me out, they said that they were on sale for $4.

I went home and plugged it in, and went to www.emarker.com to download the free software. Well, they say the site is closed and they'll give you $25 if you mail back your emarker. I went to the local walmart and got all 3 they had left. Quick pay to make $20 for each device. Expires 12/31/01. check the site for details.

Very risky......

You're buying something you have no need for, from a company that has or it is shutting down with the only reason that they're going to send you a $25 rebate.
Just don't get disappointed if they file chaper 11 one day, and you're stuck with your $4.00 or more dollars.

Stay away from this.

the only problem i see, is that they may limit it to one rebate per address

The Company has a Market Cap of 41.559 Billion Dollars

Pays a Dividend of $0.20 a Share, and probably wont be going bankrupt any time soon!

hey....I thought of that a long time ago when there was a thread about buying the emarkers.....I put the same thought in there. It's morally, my morals, wrong, since they're helping people by giving the money back, yet the people that do this would just be exploiting the good, making all bad.

Seem to recall some enterprising AT dude netted like $7000 from Sony after buying hundreds of these things up and sending them in a while back........
