Yeah, I still have my e-mail that says that it was -$40 after rebate. I wrote them an e-mail saying how they changed my reciept after I made the purchase. Told them how they were comitting fraud by changing the agreement I made with them when I made the purchase. I am working for them to just give me the crappy clock and credit me the money. Or I want them to give me the $40 bonus for buying it... You can't change the contract in the middle of it... Just like I can buy from them and decide not to pay... I bet they wouldn't like that now would they.

I'd be happy if they just sent me an RMA and a prepaid shipping label. E-mailed them twice with no response. Couldn't refuse shipment as UPS has a signature on file for me and just leaves things inside the back porch.

LOL, those auctions are great Rebate form is active now, $11.99 *whoopee* I had $10 coupon so I'll follow through I guess/ Funny theorganman can't even sell it for $2.99, I thought there was a market for everything on e-bay.

Rebate forms are now up.

Rather than simply print it out, I used my Acrobat Writer to not only fill in the rebate, but I also put BOLD RED LETTERS at the top of the form reminding them that it should in fact be a $51.99 rebate, and included a copy of the e-mail receipt stating the same.

Seems like they just repeat......Read the New York Attorney General Article

File your own complaint with the Attorney General of New York Here

File with the better business bureau of Long Island Here

Here's their real address from the BBB site
Cyberrebate.com
587 Willow Ave.
Cedarhurst, NY 11516
(516) 295-0913

I'd just be happy if they said, "Hey, we had a pricing error, do you still want the shipment?"

Instead they send it and the rebate with the $11.99 shows up 3 days after I got it....Not quite enough time to refuse it.

Just give me a pre-paid shipping label back and credit.......

Hey, I don't care if it was a mistake or not. I made an agreement that there was a $51.99 rebate on that item. They do say that prices are subject to change without notice. But how can that be legal? I can do that on my own website, charge a 15% restocking fee.... Wait for everybody to buy cables from me then charge them $1000.00 an IDE cable, then if they try to return charge them the 15% restocking fee. But then again, I'm not a Ba****d.

We should ALL think this one through VERY carefully.

For those of us with hundreds of dollars of rebates still pending, the last thing we should do is create a legal action which forces them into bankruptcy - we may win the battle, but lose the war.

In other words, I suggest we do our best to arrive at a reasonable conclusion to this situation. Hopefully, this will mean some type of refund or discount toward a future order. While I would love to get the entire $51 back, the reality is that everyone who completes the rebate forms will AT LEAST receive ALL of their money back - most of us more. Forcing them into a corner beyond that point is counterproductive.

858driver I have to say you are somewhat wrong with that. I am from NY, so I paid tax, so I paid like 99 cents more, although it is a very small amount, i ended up paying as much is if I bought it in a 99 cents store which is where this POS clock is found anyway. I am disputing the charge unless they send me a return shipment slip.

Lemme tell you guys something.
So far I have made about $2000 orders from cyberrebate ever since it began. I was one of the first customers of cyberrebate. I have kept this money in circulation with cyberrebate and I always get checks, although it take a while. I suggest that if you want the money that fast and need it, DONT INVEST IT INTO CYBERREBATE!

Cyberrebate is an excellent service, and if you do everything right, they will send you checks. They even gave me credit back on items that were damaged.

IF CYBERREBATE GOES BANKRUPT IM GONNA BE PISSED OFF!

and jskibo, this is a hot deals forum not attorney generals complaint forum!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I never really expected them to honor the $51.99 rebate. But I DID expect that they would inform me of the change or error or whatever they want to call it and ask me if I wanted to accept the new terms. I feel that when they charged my credit card they were accepting a contract with me at their original terms since I was never informed differently. Charging my card, shipping the order and THEN changing the deal is pretty damn stinky! I have no idea if it's legal or not - it just plain pisses me off! If I send in the forms I still might make $10 since I had a coupon - than again I might not. What's to stop them from changing the deal again? Why couldn't they just reduce the rebate to zero for that matter? So, for those that want to defend them, think about that.

They finally responded to the e-mail...

Got this from Cyberrebates Yesterday:

Dear John,

Thank you for your e-mail about the clock rebate. Due to a typographical
error, our website, for a brief time, mistakenly listed the clock as having
a rebate that was greater than the purchase price. The actual rebate amount
that was offered ($11.99) was the same as the purchase price. As soon as the
mistake was discovered, it was corrected. We apologize for any inconvenience
that this may have caused. We would be happy to provide you with a full
refund of the purchase price for the clock if you wish to return it with its
complete, original packaging. We will be sending a UPS call tag to pick up
the item at our expense. When we receive the item your credit card will be
credited. A call tag is when a UPS delivery person will come to your home
and pick up the package we have issued the call tag for. UPS will return
this package to our warehouse at our expense. Please be aware that it may
take up to 2 weeks from the date the call tag was for UPS to come to your
home. However, if you are not home when the delivery person comes, they will
leave you a yellow note letting you know when they will be back. You can
then leave the package outside for UPS to pick up.

If you have any additional questions, please e-mail
[customercare@cyberrebate.com].

If there is anything else I can do for you, please let me know.

Sincerely,

Larry

All I wanted was the return at no cost since they changed the rebate 3 dyas after I got the clock....Couldn't refuse the UPS.

the offer to return the clock at no cost is fair..nothing lost except your time,,everyone KNEW the pricing was an error..it was either $11 with an $11 rebate or $51 with a $51 rebate...

Some guy posted up that you can make $10 by using a $10 coupon on a free product after rebate.. will this work or would they just give us a rebate for what we bought it for?

At best you get the item for free and a $10 rebate, at worst you don't get the rebate but you do get the $10 item for free.

Looks like a win/win situation for you, give it a go.

Dude, I wrote those mofos at Cyberrebate and told them I wasn't paying for shipping it back. They basically told me too bad. Anyway, I am filing some BBB reports and going to see about getting the charges taken off my card. I am not quite sure if the credit card company takes the loss if I dispute the charges? If they take the money from CyberRebate then I might do that option. They were going to give it to me for free anyway right????
