Circuit City has TDK CDR80CB50T 50pk CDR spindles for 24.99. Two rebates, one for $13.00 (CC) and one for $10.00 (TDK), will print out at the register. A third for $10.00 (CC) is available on the Circuit City web site.

$24.99 - $13.00 - $10.00 - $10.00 = $8.01 profit (less tax).

All receipt and UPC requirements are easily met.

The TDK and one of the CC rebates expire 7/31/02, so don't wait.

These CDR's are 40x / 700mb / 80min.

good deal on these, the only thing is the picture of the cd's on circuit
city website show 16x cd's not 40x.

depending on which these are and maybe an even hotter deal is that if they are 32x you can pm to staples, they are selling a 50 pk for $19.98 and you get an extra $5.50 added to the $8.01, also the tdk rebate is good for 3 purchases so you can maybe pm 3 to staples and get
150 cd's and make about 4-5 bucks. )) but that all depends on which speed

TDK CDR80CB50T packages could be almost any speed depending on the age of the stock your store has (TDK has not been changing the p/n as the speeds have been rising). The package I picked up today was 40x. YMMV.

Thanks! Says they are in stock at my local CC. I will run by in the morning and pick up some. Even if they are 16x, you still make $8.00! and i can slow down my burner to run at 16x with a single click, so no big deal. Going to get 2, one set of rebates to me, one set to my parent's house

Go to circuit city website, paste the item #. All 3 rebates are available to print. Purchase online and you don't have to make a trip out to the store...Or if you want to, you can order it online and pick it up at a store near you.

I noticed that one of the rebate forms (the one that needs to be sent to TDK) is for item #CDR80CB50TG (notice the G at the end). The other 2 have #CDR80CB50T, which is what's printed on the UPC symbol.

It looks like that is only on the online rebate form! I just got back from the B&M CC and the rebate that printed out for the 10$ mailed to TDK CD-R Rebate just had TDK CDR80CB50T as the qualifying model!

Btw all of the cdr's I saw at my B&M store had clear screw on tops and said made in Taiwan! Would I have better luck returning this and ordering online?
I don't know if it is really worth the effort tho...as I can just put my important data on my TY's that I still have left! The TDK's should be good enough for the rest right?

I did a deal with CC earlier this year and got paid the 3 TDK rebates a $10 each plus a CC for $13. The good news was I PM'd them to Staples at $12.99.

I would suspect the deal would work.

I got these cds and there are two different spindles. One has screw cap (made in Japan on label): Taiyo Yudens (work up to 40x according to smart-burn). One is a normal spindle (made in Taiwan on label): Riteks (work up to 48x according to smart burn).

One important thing.

I looked at the rebate vailid dates for the TDK rebate ($10) and saw that it's from 10/1/01 to 7/31/02 (pretty big range). So i suspect this is the same rebate for all TDK CDR80CB50T 50pk CDRs regardless where you bought them from. And when I checked my rebate records, I found out that it's the same rebate program (#MM021)!

And the rebate says 3 per houshold, so might be a problem if you have used the rebate for 3 times already (from 10/1/01 till now)

Buyer beware.

There are only 2 rebates on the CC website now. A 13.00 rebate and a 10.oo rebate.
And I got an ad for CC and it says they have a 13.00 rebate and a 7 dollar rebate at the Brick and morter store.

Anyone know what the real deal is on these things?

I got that ad. I bought the cds before i found out about the third rebate or the second one being $10. At the store two rebates were printed out with my receipt, a $13 and $10.
