I'm totally mystified by the justification for this incredibly regressive bill. Stock market is at an all time high, unemployment low. How can any sane person think this is the time to add at least a trillion dollars to the deficit to supposedly stimulate the economy? How are we going to pay for the infrastructure repair The Donald promised? How about his boondoggle wall-no cash is left for it.

Should be interesting next week when the GOP makes it clear what Medicare and Social Security cuts they want to balance the budget-after they just sent it so far out of wack.

Near as I can tell there are only two reasons to support this bill:

1) the billionaire donor class demanded it and will cut off the cash if they don't get it

2) to get a (bogus) win in the GOP column.

Way to go guys, public servants crassly putting self interest and partisanship over country. No wonder they fawn after a President in debt up to his eyebrows to his Russian masters..

Special shame to McCain for supporting this backdoor, unread bill-after his speech a few months ago about the need to return to regular process and real deliberations. Also to all the purported fiscal conservatives-for exposing themselves as hypocritical phonies.
