Sorry, I laughed. Report me. Don't worry, I laugh at red neck jokes too.

It is not a joke, it is an racist comment. It was meant to be a jab at Africans.
I would like to point to this thread again:

The lesson still applies it seems. You can never say anything about black people but asians are on the table...
Btw, that was a slightly xenophobic tweet and she deserved it.

xenophobic? What kind of crack are you smoking?
Considering the venue, she should have known better. While athletes have done some very stupid things, to make a tweet like this, and this is the Olympics, while her punishment may be excessive, you can't say stuff like this and you reffering to the Olympic athletes.
I believe she was referring to the African immigrants in Greece. Like making fun of Asians and driving or Mexicans and beans in the US.
In the wallet.
'sup, Zin?
Instead of spewing nothing why don't you explain your antithesis to me?
Instead of spewing nothing why don't you explain your antithesis to me?
Actually the onus is on you since you made the laughable claim that her comment was xenophobic.
I don't think so. Look up definitions for xenophobia and laughable while you're at it.
Hot damn, new career path.see, that was funny.
but you're now a politicist.
I get to combine two threads here. Courtesy of Wikipedia...
Xenos - Greek word meaning stranger or foreigner.
Phobia - From the Greek Phóbos, meaning fear, or morbid fear.
So... that gives us morbid fear of foreigners, right? This would be a xenophobic tweet...
"Being around all these Africans will give us all West Nile virus"
Thing is her joke really was not funny and uncomfortable. It was a way of discreetly talking about a topic that she knows is not socially acceptable. Ever made fun of strangers simply because they are not part of your group? I swear... ATOT needs some out doors time.
I agree it wasn't the most funny joke, but it really had little to do with Africans. I actually take more as an insult to the Greeks not properly handling their mosquito problem. It was a throw away comment only a fool would give any kind of meaning to.
Also, called yourself a fool since you assigned it meaning.
Should she have known better? sure.
But was it something racist? or even bad enough to be booted from the Olympics? HELL NO.
Not really. I assigned it meaning under the microanalysis of this thread. If she said that to me in person, I would have given a polite chuckle, and not given it a bit of extra thought.
As a representative of her country, really? When you aspire to higher standards, you have to live up to it. She was not smart enough to figure it out.
And not a single spelling mistake, what's gotten into you?
LOL
