Make money off of both BB and CC?

I was just doing a little internet browsing today and bumped across this idea. The only memory that (I believe) would work is KVR400/256R, the stick of 256 pc3200 kingston desktop ram:

http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Kingston...m/oid/108886/rpem/ccd/productDetail.do

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp...ctCategoryId=cat01169&id=1093468581137

So you "buy" memory from Best "Buy" for $0 and you buy the same memory from CC for $60. Then you use the price guarantee that CC gives. They refund you 110% of the difference between the two products. You get 66 bucks back and you keep the ram.

So you get 6 bucks from CC for "buying" their memory.

Be warned...the outsourced indian customer support said that I'd have to talk with the person in charge of the local store to get the refund. Somehow, I think CC would go as far as giving me the free memory, but imagine if they actually honor their policies, thank you Best "Buy" and CC!

*edit*
I forgot...to get the ram from BB for $0, you must use the coupon:

Or you could just be satisfied with free ram and stop being the sort of jackass that ruins all sorts of cool deals for other people.

Greedy ass.

yeah,
most of the time the CC stores in houston, TX give me a hard time with trying to pm anywhere...
even when its another retail store, I have tried multiple times and I have got a pm to work about 5 times

good luck with getting anything free from any retailer

$6?????? You'll probably spend more money on gas driving, plus the time and effort. B/c of folks like this, stores will eventually do away with price matching.

Our policy applies only to advertised prices. It does not apply to special offers or promotions, including rebates, free-with-purchase offers and special financing.

This is directly off the website. I would say this falls under the special offer or promotion section.
There is no way a store is going to pay you buy from them and anyone who thinks they should
is a fool.

Have any idea what "Purchase Protection" means? it means that if you buy it from them and then find it somewhere else cheaper, they have to at least match it. Period. Otherwise, you are being penalized for being their customer instead of their competitor. Their offer is why you made the decision to buy it then and not later so they can not reneg on it. Their purchse Protection Policy also gives you 10% of the difference (Good luck getting it).

Just so you know, at most retailers you cannot price match a coupon, nor can you combine a price match and a coupon, it's usually one or the other.

Free RAM isn't enough? Asshole. Just so you know, deals like this cut into a store's bottom line, which in turn takes away money from things like available employee labor. So while you're out enjoying the RAM that some retailer paid you to keep (as unlikely and greedy as it is, I'm sure it's possible to get someone, somewhere to do it) the store's gonna cut some poor chap's hours as a result. Maybe not directly but it's part of the effect from losing margin like this.

Also, despite the fact that the coupon is linked from images.bestbuy.com, I'm hearing from people that the coupon is fraudulent, and/or was a misprint, which should not be honored. The REAL coupon requires the purchase of a computer to get the savings (which makes a lot more sense, business-wise. Who the hell GIVES AWAY RAM?)

I received the email and the coupon and the coupon as posted it is not fraudulent. It says nothing about requiring the purchase of a computer to get any of the items. In fact, the title of the email message is "Save hundreds instantly on computer accessories", not "Save hundreds instantly on computer accessories with the purchase of a computer." The coupon on the Best Buy site IS the REAL one and it has been there, unchanged, since about Aug 18. If it was a misprint and they meant something else, they could have pulled it, changed it, put up disclaimers, etc.

I doubt this would work, seeing as you use a coupon. As far as regular PM goes at CC, I've never had a problem, they've always been good about it.

Wow were worried about the stores profit margins now?. Lets hear responses like this next time someone finds a typo for $1.00 copies of Windows XP pro edition on a website and it is is followed by 100 posts of "I just orded 50 copies!!!!!!"

You can't explain stuff like this to them, too much "I'M SCREWING THE MAN HA HA HA" stuck in their head, very little thinking about the rest of the consumers who end up footing the bill either way.

I'm fine with a legitimately great deal, but this goes a bit too far IMO.

Why do you believe that we're not consistent on this matter? I find those extreme exploits just as scammy and disgusting as this.
