Think about it. If you've just met, you can't possibly fvck up a friendship by trying, so what do you have to lose? Worst case scenario - "oh sorry I'm not interested" and you saved yourself about 20 pages of YAGTs on ATOT asking us. Best case - "hey sure, it would be great to do ____ next weekend" (something you suggest). If a chick likes you she'll understand if you can't do anything for 1 whole week (and if she doesn't you don't want that crazy bitch anyway).

edit: and I swear to god you don't deserve anyone if you can't take this simple advice.

It's true. You really do have nothing to lose. I'd just call her up and ask her on a date.

My only problems are this:

I have only met her once, and I didn't talk to her that much.

I work all week, and this weekend is thanksgiving break so I think this is a no go.

Is it weird that I get her number from someone else and call her up, even if she might not remember me?

I'd call tomorrow after dinner. Set up something for the weekend, or if you are going to be home for break see if she wants to do something during the week you get back. If you get no answer tomorrow either leave a voicemail, or try again Tues or Weds and then leave a voicemail if still no answer.

Your buddy is telling you what he would do, if he were you. Do what feels right to you, and don't let him push you into something that makes you feel too uncomfortable.

In all fairness what seems to work for him seems to work because he has no trouble picking up girls. But you're right, I just don't feel comfortable reaching out and grabbing her hand, that seems like something from high school. I might give whoozyerdaddy's suggestion a try, get her number from my friend and call her up.

If anyone has any other suggestions (including date ideas) I'd love to hear them
