Malware scans (Normal or Safe Mode?)

when performing Spyware and Virus scans, from where do you guys do it? this is my approach:

1) update Windows.
2) update SuperAntispyware, Malwarebytes and AntiVir.
3) reboot the system, start it into Safe Mode, then log as the Admin.
4) scan the system using AntiVir, then Superantispyware.
5) reboot the system, start it in Normal Mode, log as Limited User.
6) use RunAs to launch Malwarebytes, then scan the system.
7) reboot again.

the reason why i use Malwarebytes in Normal Mode is due to a thread that i once read on the program's forum. according to the devs, Malwarebytes is the most efficient at detecting problems when Windows is running on Normal Mode.

for all other scans, i have always read that Safe Mode is better. is that a myth? what do you guys think?


PS: sometimes i also run the command line versions of SysClean and BitDefender from inside a recently updated BartPE, but this is besides the point. what i really want to know from you guys is your opinion on Safe vs Normal Mode.

Safe mode is usually the best. but if you want to be extra careful, scan again in normal mode.

I generally scan/remove in normal mode. If I run into issues I'll then go safe mode/bootable CD.
