Man and dog die after being trapped in Corvette

When watching a movie I feel more sorry when they kill a dog than when they kill other people as that's normal.

Anyway
1. who in hell would ever make a door without a normal lever on the inside like 99% of cars?
2. no glass breaking device in the car?
3. nobody notices an old man hammering at his windows?

Look a few post's above you, there IS a lever to open the door, as Wazup pointed out it's about one foot from the button that is normally used and it is clearly marked "door open" with an imprint of a car with it's door open. although I feel badly that what was apparently a nice man and his dog perished it should have never happened. If you know that the car requires electric power to open the door and we all know that car batteries just croak sometimes without warning then it is IMPERATIVE you read the manual so you can deal with the situation if it happens.

And how many 70 year olds consistently train their legs and/or don't have other health problems that would make doing so difficult? Not only that but considering how they died, I'd hazard a guess that he would have been hampered already. Hell, I doubt average 70 years olds could even put themselves in a good position to kick out the window in a Corvette.

There is enough room for someone of average height (5-9) to kick out the window when lying upwards and back braced against the console. Taller guys would have a problem though, since they would get less leg extension on the kick.

70 year olds who even run 2-3 times a week should have the leg strength to kick it out from the inside. If many younger women are kicking out cop windows then this isn't beyond reality.
