There was a man atop a hill
Who simply could not stand still
Peering up across the land
Desperate to all of it command
The man tried with words to sway the far-reaching land
Yelling, screaming, bellowing, and pointing with every digit on his hands
Spitting out rubbish and hackneyed bumbles
Laughing, screaming, raging, periodically referencing only mumbo-jumbo
All the inhabitants of the expanse looked up in amazement
Curiously bewitched by the mans mad dance
They whispered and mumbled and stopped to observe
Wondering what nonsense the man was trying to put into words
All they could see was that a man was jumping up there,
Enraged it seemed, screaming and kicking and giving them the bird
Soon the expanse had all but shut down
Everyone was out in the streets, watching silently, nearly all of downtown
Thought engulfed the populous as to what the man said
No one was sure, and this vacuous vacuum gossip fed
Some proposed that he was about to jump
Others commented, ?no way, look at his clothes, he is no chump?
And so it went for over an hour
Men and women alike
Mesmerized,
Enamored,
By this man above them in that earthen edifice,
In that brown tower
Part two
This man would not shut up
The crowds were growing restless
Their clamoring was getting much worse
Their curiosity had peaked and desperately wanted the situation to resolve itself
Silence gripped the crowed from within the nearest town
At the familiar sound of a slingshot being released
Aimed straight at the mound
A rush of hushed emotion engulfed the now enthralled crowd
All eyes following the small, sleek projectile
Soon the entire expanse was made aware that a small bead-like object had been
Fired and was going up through the air
Inexplicable amazement spread like wildfire through the crowd
Not a sound, not a peep was uttered, but inside, thoughts abounded in their minds
No one was sure what would happen
But they all knew it would be great
The man was still yelling
And the black speck flying through the air did not seem like it wanted to negotiate
Who simply could not stand still
Peering up across the land
Desperate to all of it command
The man tried with words to sway the far-reaching land
Yelling, screaming, bellowing, and pointing with every digit on his hands
