I remember we busted this one guy who tried to return a brick in a new receiver box, but the weight distribution was way off despite the seals being "intact"

oh, and as far as the geek squad doing a "free instore setup" on each and every PC, the tech bench used to get revenue for each PC they tested but since they quit the store doesn't push it any longer. Usually, they just scan the barcode for the setup so it gets tracked, but it only gets done when the customer reuqests it or if they are paying for an install of some sort.

what happened to that guy?

Well true or not the guy was out of line.

He could have disputed it with his CC company or got a lawyer.
Threating to kill an employee is out of line.

Do not pass go, do not collect $1300 right to jail.

Also, why did the reporter list the guy's full address? That's shady.
thats pretty standard when people get arrested. Unless they are minors, then I think its illegal to print thier names.

They don't give the full addresses out here. It's Joe Blow of the 17th hundred block of some street or Joe Blow of the getho section of the city. Never the full address.
He may have a lawsuit.

I bought an HP from there and that was never mentioned to me.

I also wouldn't ever think of opening all the boxes and verifying the contents at the store. I guess I better rethink that policy though.

So what happened to this guy?
The mother seem to have gotten away with the iMeat packaging, while this guy is called a scammer and is arrested. Double standards?
