Yeah same, though to be fair when I was younger we were on our bikes cuz there wasn't much to do inside, unless you just wanted to zone out on tv or get hit by your parents (depending on the household). While I played plenty of video games, they didn't quite have the depth/breadth that they do now, so it's pretty easy to basically live off those as your sole entertainment source, if you want. Add in permanent communication channels with friends, and the all the primary purposes of physical activity are pretty well taken care of, aside from that silly/annoying 'work muscles and burn fat' part of it.
Another thing I notice is that more parents drive their kids to school instead of making them walk/ride bikes to school. My mother would have laughed or cuss me out if I asked her to give me a ride...

We just had a topic on here recently, some school districts now have strict requirements for how far kids are permitted to walk unattended, up through middle school? Maybe high school? I'm sure there's some reasonable limitations on distance walked for a young kid unattended (like 1st/2nd grade) but I regularly walked to/from school from 3rd onward unsupervised. Got into trouble a few times doing stuff I shouldn't have, but that's part of growing up imho.

I started walking to school since I was 5 years old...

Can depend on the distance. I don't really remember 2nd and prior, but iirc we lived a ways out from whatever local elementary school there was. 3rd onward I could draw you a map though. It really wasn't a long slog.

Middle school was a bit too far to walk for me tbh, it was like 3 miles out. Not saying it couldn't be done but it would have been about an hour walk, without reasonable sidewalks for ~50% of it. We had solid buses though.

A 100% potato based diet would be hard on one's anus not to mention the toilet and plunger.

There is no single food that a person could survive on long term as no one food supplies every nutrient our bodies need. However, potatoes are actually very close. I think I read somewhere the minimum amount of natural foods that you could grow needed to survive long-term would be:
- white potatoes (for amino acids)
- sweet potatoes (for vitamins)
- Kale (for calcium)

So, if you're going to live on an island, take starts of those three for your crops.

I'm largely sedentary and complex carbohydrates are a large part of my diet. I also only weigh ~136 lb.
Simple carbs (white and yellow sugars and starches) and the ones that get you. Complex carbs are usually bundled with fiber, so they can't be metabolized very easily.

Actually that would really depend where the island is at. Also depending on your fishing skill, you could also eat fish as well.

Well I'm thinking of some sort of weird bread made with 25% barley, 25% Rye, and 50% potatoes.

ACTUALLY, stop using the word actually when it's uncalled for, it is a retarded excuse for thought... and no, given the same potatoes, the smaller aren't worth more. Are you just plain stupid?

Triggered.

Why don't you actually go to your local store and compare the per pound price of baby potatoes vs full size? You will see that it is actually true.
Then take the bus to your anger management class, although I doubt it actually helps much.

That word is even more uncalled for. Not because it's politically incorrect, but because it's immature and doesn't add a whit to your argument.

Also, "obviously" is just as bad as "actually" if we are talking about overused words, which you literally just used, obviously. Just sayin'. Seriously. Really.

Yes, I'm steamed. Boiling over in anger. Roasted. Drenched with butter. Salted.
...

What was I saying?

Be careful, we don't want to cook so many tubers that they all rot before we can eat them.

Shut your stupid mouth you obama loving republitard neocon-SJW!

Whoa there, buddy, that's too good of an emulation. I'm having flashbacks of that one time I accidentally went into P&N. Someone hand me my safety blanket.
