Just put a slotket'd 700E @ 933mhz in my brother's (BH6) machine with some cas2 pc133 crucial (they had gooood prices, 15% off and free 2nd day). He had a slot1, Celeron 300A @ 450mhz for about 2 years

I love both of mine too (c566 @850 in one and PIII 700 @ 700 in the other)!! Although I would love it even more if I could get my PIII 700E running at 133 MHz (Retail cCO). Can you guys tell me what settings you have in your bios to hit 133 MHz FSB??? My other machine: Enlight case, Abit BH6 Rev. 1.02 (ss), MSI Slotket, 256 MB Micron PC 133 7.5ns, Hercules GF2 MX, SB Live Value, ASUS 50x, Pioneer 10x, Hollywood Plus, USR 56k, Maxtor 6.4 GB & IBM 3.2 GB (both to be replaced with Maxtor 30 GB on the way). I don't think it's heat, because I can't even get it to boot into Win 98. Posts, but hangs on Starting Windows screen. Any info is appreciated.

I have an Abit BH6 also, but, correct me if I'm wrong, aren't the IDE controllers only UDMA/33? Did you guys add a separate controller card? Also, isnt the AGP only rated at 1x? or 2x at most? Is there anyway to speed that up? The memory only supports 100mhz, so how did you manage to bypass that? I've been trying to toy with the BH6 forawhile but gave up due to its limitations.. I think mine might be an older version, bought it back 4 years? 3 years ago? I have it running a Slot 1-P2 400mhz... any idea how to speed this badboy up?

RD, you're correct that the BH6 (actually the 440BX chipset) only supports a 100MHz FSB, officially. Many have successfully run this board at speed over 100MHz FSB, through the SoftMenu setup. The AGP is 2x capable, and the EIDE controller is ATA33. Since there's little real world difference between ATA33, 66 and 100 today you can choose to stay w/ the onboard controller, or go w/ an add-in card.

If you want to speed up your BH6, excellent options include a Celeron II, which you would run on the 100MHz FSB (or over), or a P!!!. Simply update the BIOS to the latest version (SS for rev1.0x boards, SP for rev1.1 boards), get a good Slotket and give it a go. There are reports too numerous to mention of successful P!!!-850's on BH6's, along w/ C2's (most successful overclock of a C2 seems to be the 566).

FWIW I've been running a P!!!-650 FC-PGA cB0 on an Abit Slotket!!! and a Thermaltake Gorb HSF on my rev1.02 BH6 since June 2000 and it hasn't as much as blinked.
