I would return it. I would never keep someone's purse. If I had found the $1M in cash, though, with no identifying information, I would absolutely keep it.

I'd return it, though. As a side-job, I work at a grocery store where I find all sorts of purses, credit cards, IDs, wallets, etc. I've returned them all without hesitation. I couldn't imagine the feelings I'd have if I had suddenly realized I lost such a valuable posession.

My wife accidentally left her purse in a shopping cart in the wal-mart parking lot last year. Somebody took it to the front desk at the store and turned it in. Nothing was missing. Cash, credit cards, keys, checkbook everything was still there. What comes around goes around.

im not on a high horse. people who steal are the lowest scum of nonviolent crimes. it really says a lot about how lazy the person is. you must be a thief to take such offense to my statement.

also, if they choose to have a million dollars worth of stuff and carry it around, that doesnt mean they deserve to lose it. that also isnt being dumb. just because they have money doesnt mean they cant make a mistake. i assume you are human, which means you have also made mistakes. think how terrible it would be for you to lose something so valuable and not ever get it back? i guess asking you to think logically is going to overload your brain and spit out more immature cutdowns, but it was worth a shot.
