Last year a group of kids stoned all the newborn baby swans at a lake located in a local trailer park. None of the kids were identified or caught.
Thats why I fully support PETA.
Maybe PETA is not perfect, but whom else stands up for the helpless co-habitats of this earth?

Is this the same PETA that would rather kill animals than rehome them? Those champions of the helpless?

Many organizations that do much more good without the attention whoring that PETA is into that ends up working against what they say they are for. For example HSUS, ASPCA, WARL, and Best Friends to name a few that do much more to benefit animals than anything PETA's antics have done.

I was referring to a story you might remember from back in '94 when a American teen, Michael Fay had been caught stealing signs and vandalizing cars in Singapore, he was sentenced to 6 strokes of the cane, 4 months in jail and a $2,500 fine. Some here in the US, (embarrassingly IMO) started whining about the "harshness" of being caned as it usually leaves scars for life although the majority favored the punishment. After Clinton himself got involved it got reduced to 4 strokes, the Singapore government openly commented how Clinton had time to examine this matter with all the other issues going on in the US, I agree with them. The cane stick is usually soaked in water (to gain weight and mass) and the process is applied by a specialist who is trained to inflict the maximum amount of pain for each stroke. I, for one think this needs to be brought into the US justice system, pain is/was/always will be a great motivator to act correctly.

How do they know he didn't hear her until it was too late, noticed something odd about the spot he ran over, backed up, and then hit it again to make sure the grass had an even cut? It's all based on the accusation of one biased, probably over-protective mom with nothing better to do.

EDIT: Looks like they are considered pests and not protected anyways.

Admittedly shredding them into meaty strips probably isn't considered humane, but I'd imagine most died near-instantly regardless. Probably less terrifying than picking them up and wringing their necks one by one. Apparently feeding them is considered a problem, so it's possible that this guy was just aware of the ducks being a nuisance and knew that his dumbass neighbors were enabling the ducks.

The ASPCA, for one. They likely work much more closely with local law enforcement than PETA. In some jurisdictions, they are law enforcement.
