Man sells comic collection to pay kids med bills--The Karl Kesel collection

For the people around here collecting comics. Guy's kid is really sick so he's selling the collection he spent around 40 years putting together.

I have owned many of those and had no idea those junk comics could be worth so much. They were lost and thrown away about 5 or 6 years ago.

In the 1990s, the landlord of our apartment building broke into the tenants' storage bins in the basement and stole a lot of stuff before fleeing God knows where. In my bin, there were hundreds of mint Marvel comic books in individual plastic bags. And all my AD&D first edition books and pewter figurines from the late 70s and early 80s. I had spent a lot of time painting those.

Ouch, that hurts. Used to own some of those issues (Capt.America, Avengers, Iron Man, Spider-Man, Fantastic Four). Can't recall how I lost them when I was in my early teens (early '70s).

One of my favorites. :'(

Good for him for adopting, but he really did this to himself by choosing to adopt drug addicted kids. I guess parenting is > on the priority list than his 40 year old comic collection.
