Man Shoots Girlfriend in Fight Over "The Walking Dead"

And what the heck was the argument about? I love this show and dont udnerstand how the report is describing the argument

According to Nassau County police, Gurman was out with his girlfriend when the two began arguing over "The Walking Dead," a television cable drama about a man who wakes from a coma to a world dominated by zombies. Gurman apparently felt strongly that a "military mishap" could occur on the show.


"He felt very adamant," Detective Lt. Raymond Cote said at a news conference Tuesday. "There could be military mishap that would result in some sort of virus being released that could cause a terrible thing to happen."

Even if he just started watching the show 1st season, the world is already fucked up. What kind of military mishap could with a virus make it any worse than it already is??

Geez, they were dating for 3-4 years. I could see if he was some loser who lived in his mom's basement and never got any, but this makes no sense. Not to excuse it or anything, but I wonder if she was really sticking it to him in the argument, so he was going to shut her up. She was also going up the steps, and he shot her in the back. Shooting an unarmed girlfriend in the back...thats some scumbag stuff right there. And she came to see he was alright, so it doesnt paint her as mean spirited enough to make her boyfriend shoot her in the back. And he shot her, instead of slapping her around or choking her. Its like he was planning to kill her, not just something in the heat of the moment.

Seems like such an overreaction given the details.

Ok, playing devils advocate here, but couldn't he have as easily strangled her or beat her, or stabbed her to death?

The whole gun issue while painfully obviously doesn't mean the same outcome couldn't have played out with the same ending in my opinion.
