I think Bob's point was using a gun is an instant decision. A half second of rage can end in a murder. All other forms of killing require much more effort and commitment...many of which would come to their senses before they got to that point.

I would think rage or passion would be more choking, beating, stabbing, etc. Using a gun seems more contemplative. In this story, it wasnt implied that he saw her and got a gun, he was waiting for her with a gun. I dunno, shooting someone wouldnt seem that satisfying. I think I would use a gun if I didnt think I could take the person.

But who knows...hopefully I'll never find out.

Unfortunately there are just crazy people out there, and yes sometimes they'll use a gun to express their craziness.

Just be thankful there aren't more of them, and more incidents like this.

There are 300 million people in this country. 7 billion on this planet. When you reach those sorts of numbers AND you have global media coverage and an internet, face it, you are going to hear about the craziest of shit. It's just the law of averages at that point.

Proper reaction is to shake your head, be grateful you aren't crazy and that (hopefully) those who are close to you aren't either, and go on with your life.
