Slapper is not guilty by reason of female ghetto hood-rat insanity.
I personally think all involved should get same punishment. While she did hit him first he clearly is in a position that he could have hurt her really bad if he wanted to. At least he had the restraint to not outright punch her because that could have killed her.
When I was a bouncer in California in the early 90s I taught all my guys to hit with an open hand because its less likely to hurt and it emaciates most drunk people easy.
Stuff like this is group psychology. She was playing it up for her friends and everyone involved allowed it to escalate.
LOL you taught bouncers and want a guy defending himself to get the same punishment as his attacker?
I don't think you did what you say you did.
Most drunks needs just a good slap to realize they are acting foolish and snap themselves back into reality. However, the drunks and sober people hellbent on assaulting someone need to be dealt with more force. Alot of bouncers I know wore sap gloves, a sort of weighted knuckle glove. Allowed you to open hand slap someone but when you closed the fist and punched, they were more devastating than a normal fist. They also maintain the dexterity of the fingers (as opposed to another hand weapon like brass knuckles) allowing you to disarm a weapon or grab an opponent. And they blend in and are inconspicuous; they look like a bouncer wearing a set of black gloves.
A bouncer is not there to slap around a patron. When a patron is legally drunk they are supposed to not be served anymore and asked to leave.
I don't see A LOT of bouncers in sap gloves and I have gone to tons of places. A lot of club owners really don't want their guys in anything extra due to lawsuits. We had a bouncer use brass knuckles on some teenager that snuck in a club and it was major.
What this guy was saying is he was a bouncer and believes the defender should be charged, which would by proxy have a bouncer charged anytime he was trying to defend himself.
For the most part when you are bouncing/doing security; you aren't going one on one. You communicate, you go up to the bouncee and you grab his ass and throw him out.
It's rare it comes to fisticuffs.
I guess I should have added this but in many jurisdictions, weighted gloves are not illegal while brass knuckles are. Its an extra weapon the bouncers ive spoken to are comfortable wielding that gives them an extra measure of force should it come down to violence.
Are fights like this standard on public transportation in the states? As funny as it is watching that from the safety of my own home, it would be kinda scary to be sitting there where this is happening. Need an amber lamps.

Pena (the slapper), Gil, and Campbell were charged with misdemeanor assault and disorderly conduct while Howard (the slapee) was charged with felony assault using a weapon.
