I'm guessing that it's a failure to control the automobile. Can't remember what they put on the ticket, but when I rear-ended someone, that's what they gave the ticket for. His real problem isn't the police, he can go to traffic school to get the mark taken off the record, he should worry more about the passengers in the other car and if his insurance rates will skyrocket. Luckily my rear-end accident was very minor, so I was able to pay for the fixes out of pocket without my insurance company catching wind of it.

Eh, you'll be fine bob. I flew off of a highway onto another highway, at 101 mph (in a 45 mph zone) two years ago, and got charged with alluding police.. my insurance didn't go up too insanely, and I got my license back after a year (and a trip to juvey).

For yours, I'd say your insurance will probably increase about $60 or $70 a month (no biggy), won't lose your license, no juvey/jail trip, and I very highly doubt you'll get sued, if none of them had to stay overnight at the hospital.

Dude, do you have any idea how much whiplash victims suffer?

Had it been me in the GrandAm and got hit by an inattentive driver from the ass end, that driver can expect to be sued big time by me. I just got to get a good lawyer.

I came close to collision many times because some people rely on others braking to avoid collision and think its okay to beat me to the light from stop sign and stuff, but I never hit anything because even if its their inattentiveness, I pay attention. >>
