I like Survivor Man because he plays it safe and smart. I mean, he's by himself and it's natural. Man v Wild shows some stuff that's cool as sh!t, but he's reckless. Which one's better?

Man vs Wild is BS, you know those camera guys are handing him power bars on the side. Survivorman's got nobody. If he dies, they won't know for a week.

I think both are educational, and Bear is cool, but he's just so reckless..."Here, let me downclimb this waterfall"...Ok, that's cool..."Ah, fvck, my stomach hurts. Let me climb back up this waterfall then back down so I can get some milk of magnesia"...

Man vs Wild is way WAY more entertaining. Survivor man is much more educational and seems far more real.

This being said, since I watch TV more for entertainment, I'd say Man vs Wild is a better show.

If I watched TV to actually learn how to survive on the off chance I'm stuck in the wild, then Survivor man would be better.

First of all, I'd like to mention that I've seen every episode of both shows and enjoy them both. I think Bear Grylls is a huge badass which makes him entertaining. That's why I like Man vs. Wild, it's crazier and you get to see him do cooler stuff, if I tried some of the stuff he did I would've killed myself on accident. However, he does have a camera crew with him and even though they don't do anything to help, it still kinda ruins the mood for me. Plus he can afford to take risks since they can help him in a life or death situation whereas if something happens to Les, no one will even know. Survivorman can be more educational and interesting to see Les survive for a week literally by himself, but I'll admit that it can get it bit slow at times. Like I said, I like both shows but I voted for Survivorman jut because he's actually surviving in the wilderness.

more respect to the guy hauling 50 lbs of camera equipment and has to do everything 4x times to make sure he gets footage

over the guy who has a medic crew following him around

Survivor man caught a freaking rabbit with wire from a plane hull, ate the entire inside and made gloves out of the hide, all with a simulated broken arm. No question, survivor man rules.

I only saw a single episode of Man vs Wild where he was dropped off at a Pacific island. I found it odd that after few days of "surviving" he was still clean-shaved.

I like them both, but if I were stranded with one of them I'd prefer Les.

Bear uses his athleticism to get himself out of bad situations he's put himself into. He does stuff that would get the average person killed.

Les is more deliberate and careful.

I like Man vs Wild much better. However, it is practically useless as an actual survival show...99.99% of people have no prayer of being able to do what Bear does.

WTF? I'll have you know that I certainly can pee on my shirt and wrap it around my head to keep me cool, as well as squeeze elephant crap water into my mouth.

Please, I have teh hand-mouth-squeeze-penis-wrapping coordination of the highest level.

Survivor Man is way better. He doesn't have a camera crew feeding him bon bons as he films.

You can learn good things from Bear. However, in that very same episode, only 0.01% of people could have climbed out of the canyon to prevent hypothermia.

Survivorman. He's alone out there, like most people would be in a survival situation. The man vs wild guy has a whole crew with him.

But Bear rubbed a stick against a rock, threw it at a rabbit and killed it.

Actually, I got to say, that stick throwing thing was one of the most impressive things I've seen. Funny as heck too.

MvW certainly has a more diverse range of situation, and an objective, but you can't escape the lack of authenticity. Survivorman FTW.

I think the guy from MvW burns up WAY too many calories doing all the athletism stunts he does on camera. In a real situation I don't think even he would risk half of the spectacles he pulls.

In the episode of MvW where he parachuted into the icey mountians, he deliberately jumped in that frozen water. Then he sat there in icey water and explained what happens to your body for like 2-3min. Then he had to claw himself out. It was just TOOOO overdramatic.

However I still watch both, they're both good shows but my props go to survivor man.
