I don't think Trump could possibly pardon Cohen for a crime HE directed him to do but then again he might just try anyway. With the existing tapes to back his claim up it would be literally impossible to claim "I didn't know". Also throw in the McDougal $150K payment as well and this will defiantly end badly for Trump. The judge won't hit with any more than the minimun, or close to it.
The real fun comes in the next trial with a judge who isn't going to sabotage the trial.

Manafort's only plausible way out is to cooperate with Mueller. A pardon won't matter, since state charges could be pulled up. Cohen I believe would have the same issue.
