Just thought I would share a couple snaps of my Mancave. FYI, this in the unfinished 2nd floor of my house. I bought a 3/4 Cape style house a few years ago and the second story is yet to be finished. I just finished putting a real stair case (used to just be a pull down)

Next year, I will be putting a large Dormer on it and my Mancave will be in a real room. =) Much thanks goes out to my Lovely Wife for putting up with my odd  for video cards.

Anyhow, this took some time to get these pics together tonight and made quite a mess, usually it is quite tidy. LOL

u3011 and vg236 with 3d vision kit

Look, I'm a fanATic..... >

oh wait... I'm an nVidiot......

Oh sure all the graphics cards but it's not like you use any of them........

oh wait..

The saddest part is that i have another half dozen or so highend cards out on loan to friends while they wait for the next latest and greastest thing to come out and another 15 or so not so highend cards that I use to test equipment.

I have sold dozens of other highend cards that hopefully I will replace.

My main goal is to have *every* highend card there was. If that is possible.

**edit**

Just because this thread seems to have caught on a little bit, I 'm gonna post up a little offer.

I'm looking for these:

8800 Ultra
5950/5900/5800 Ultra
Original Geforce 1 cards
9800 GTX or a GTX +
9800 XT (radeon)
X800 XT (pe if you have it)
HD 2900 XT
Radeon 8500
3DFX's

Let me know

I can offer up in trade
HD4870 512's
8800 GTS 640
7800 GT
7600 gs passive

Geeks Anonymous Meeting

Hi. My name is lavahead and I've been gaming on the same GPU for 2 weeks now.

:clapping from other attendees:

I was doing good but I fell off of the wagon when borderlands came out. I told myself it was because I was gaming on an AMD card and I needed PhysX, but that's not the real reason. I needed to feed my addiction.

:collective moan from the crowd:

I need help. I'm playing Hitman Absolution now and, well... it's a gaming evolved title!

:gasps across the room:

What can I do? I must be strong!

:A voice from the back of the room: AMD drivers suck!!!
:Another voice: Microstutter!!

:lavahead: Thank you friends. That helps. I really love you guys! :'(

Where do you find women like that? Buying tons of hardware anyone can do (well...), but I am much more impressed with how you pull it off without a divorce!

Haha... I lived in a capecod and had a very similar set up, right down to the too small of desk and two different sized monitors (the roof of a cape cod style house has some limitations up stairs). Of course I only had a couple of video cards at any one time, though. Fun memories of sitting up there on a day off of work and just gaming away all morning...

Back then GPUs used to have shrouds that actually shaped in a way that it is purposely made to channel air. I used to look in awe at blower style fans and still do today but not as much because shrouds these days are just rectangular shapes, boring.

Yeah, I picked up a 4670 with shaped blower to go into my "retro" rig (see sig). It looks pretty damn cool.

Cool mancave!

I only have 3 rigs right now but aspire to have more up and running as a long term plan. I must be a videocard fanboy too because I find it hard to part with them. For the most part, I end up just building secondary/guest rigs after I've moved on to the next thing.

Great mancave, and great card collections. I've always been giving (sometimes selling) my past graphic cards when I've been moving to the next generation, but it makes the nerdpart in my brain aching for a collection of all my past cards.

cool place.. does it get hot in summer? and No piles of newspapers from 10 years ago ? hehe

Its just a shame that if i wanted to get a collection like that "today on ebay" it could be had for peanuts as some of those cards sell for $5 to 10 dollars!

Yeah but they had loud tiny fans and weren't that good as cooling solutions overall.

I guess over time, function took precedence over form as increased cooling potential became more important. Just as we do not have circular shaped homes as a square space is more efficient, the same goes here. Its kinda sad to see blower style coolers like CM Aero 7+ went the way of the dinosaur.

Square footage is so expensive in the city that I can't afford to have a room just for my computers right now. My current "man cave" is just a nook in the living room.

A whole floor is a dream I can't enjoy just yet, but it looks like you got a nice setup. Stairs look professional too.

Yeah those were interesting but they just couldn't keep up with ever hotter cards coming out but now that tdp has dropped....
