im down loading mandrake now, but will I have any problem dual booting it with xp pro

Watch out, many people have said that you can't boot off the 1st CD. I don't know of a fix or a way around this yet, but if I figure it out I'll post again. Don't ask me how something so simple could ever get past beta testers or any testers. It's really pissing me off.

Use your #2 CD first. It will boot and when it tells you it's the wrong CD just switch back to #1 CD and it will work. No big deal!

Generally it won't mess anything up, as long as you left room for it on the hard drive. Definitely back everything important up first though, never know when bad luck will strike.

I went on ahead and installed Mandrake 9.2 on one of my boxes. The distro dual boots perfectly with W2K Pro.

Remember, though, that 'Drake 10 is not the final release yet...you may run into some bugs (remember to file bug reports when possible - it is a huge help for the developers). I have loaded it on a couple of PCs just to play with it (my main machine is still Debian, but my "other" machine is Slackware with something like 4 other distros on it just for variety) and I haven't had any major problems except for having to boot it from the second disk on one machine. Your mileage may vary, however.
